I was using google translate to catch-up on a Chinese battery/charger/power bank blog. There amongst the announcements and tests of various chinese 18650 cells, I spotted info about a new (I believe) cell from LG. A few high points:
3,200 mAh capacity
1C Max charge current
10A discharge
4.2v charge termination voltage.
For more details, I did a post recapping what I learned about the LG INR 18650 MH1 from the datasheet and the Chinese site. There are links to the datasheet and the original chinese-language test if you want to see the discharge curves.
What would be interesting to see is how this battery compares to the Panasonic NCR18650BD. The specs look very similar. But it appears that this battery can be charged faster. And the 10A discharge is not specified as a continuous or burst rating (it is a continuous rating on the Panasonic, with a 15A burst).
It looks like LG is also releasing a 3,500 mAh cell in this family. There are comprable Panasonic cells, but if you look at it the other way around, its good for consumers that there is now an alternative to Panasonic.
That's why I stick to AliExpress. Got 10 for US$57.60. They're powering up my Meteor M43 nicely, thank you. :)
edit: the store I got it from is currently having a sale on these cells. 10 for US$48.24. If you're only looking at getting 2, they're US$12.73 for a pair at the same store.
