RD6006PW feedback
Wow! What a great unit. Very simple to install, and perfectly calibrated. Even the battery charging option has proved useful. The wifi option works well with the app, but it would be so much better if it worked with secured wifi networks, not just open ones
These just keep tempting meā¦ If I am looking at it right, with wifi and the dedicated PSU and caseā¦ $150.50 US + shipping? I have an existing 54vDC PSU of the correct form factor that I could useā¦ That makes it more tempting.
you mean RD6006P or other version, our RD series power supply input voltage range is 6-70V, 54V is ok
Very tempted to get one of those - thanks for the post! I have been looking for something like it for a while now.
This would be a full PSU, am I correct? Kits can not be shipped to my region (Italy), donāt know why, so I have to order separate.
for the completely one , maybe there is not shipping way on aliexpress
you only order the seperately part
if you really need the completely set , you can make order on alibaba
I also can send them by DPP shipping way, you donāt need to pay for tax
so you can give me the full shipping address and alibaba reginster email
@RD_tech looks interesting, how does the wifi board work? - is there specific software that needs to be installed, or an API or SDK that I can build my own software to use, etc?
for wifi board, we have APP , donāt support PC software
While such a thing is not documented, it connects to an access point at boot, and the phone must be connected to the same, then you control it with an app - I bet one could easily wireshark the communications and reverse engineer if desired. If there is an easy way to create a comms dump for you and you have any use for that, I can try and make one. Not capable to reverse the protocol myself, or create an app ^^
@RD_tech how come the RD6006P has earth connected to the positive output of the internal 68V PSU? This means the GND output of the RD6006P is at -68V compared to earthā¦ This is highly unusual, and causes a lot of troublesā¦ I almost killed my oscilloscope when measuring something connected to the RD6006P because I did not expect it to have such a weird ground potential. Oscilloscopes always have ground = earth. I can modify the PSU to fix this, but this is not something that should be the default.
This is unfortunate. I was interested in that PS until reading this, now Iām much less interested.
@RD_Tech, you should consider documenting the protocol. This way, someone else (me or @wolfgirl42 or @Parametrek, which is known to have a pendant for this kind of thing) would surely write/adapt a PC utility to do it.
Reverse-engineeering is always an option, but ādirectā engineering is much better (faster, easier and less prone to problems).
Thank you very much for your quick reply - I thought this was intentional. I will check that tomorrow.
for wifi to connect PC software , some computor can do that , some not , so we only said wifi only support PC software ,not APP
for communication protocol , we donāt provide that
