The smaller 3C looks like the Black Friday one that sold in the US.
So I’m still trying to decide whether to keep the 2AA’s. Since you have seen the beam pattern CarpentryHero, do you know of a 2AA light that has an equal or better beam pattern that would cost around the same or less then modding these lights with new driver and emitter? Maybe a C3?
What does the body feel like (e.g. cheap, grippy, etc)?
Does the reflector look decent?
Is the lens plastic or glass on these?
Any input on the above would be appreciated.
Glad I still have one in my lunch box. To answer some questions,
The reflector is plastic, the lens is plastic. The knurling feels smooth to the touch because the lines are shallow and all running the same way diagonally.
The beam pattern is floodier due to the larger hole for the emitter and centering ring.
I don’t know what a driver and led cost.
The head feels glued on,i can only get the lens and reflector section to come off.
Thanks for that update, Kendall. based on that, I’ll be passing. I was hoping for at least something in the head that could be reused.
