It won’t be 500 (American, British, German) lumens. You or anyone else might be able to see the bright spot from 500 meters away, but it won’t throw a beam that far unless maybe the object is highly reflective like a safety vest. Of course it is only a few bucks to risk…

for a couple of £ it might be reasonably useful, even if it only puts out 10 lumens, thats enough to find the keyhole on your door.
