new: Solarforce Z1 and Z2

Cool, can’t wait! Glad you like the S6. Might not want to take the Z1 quite so far, being a smaller light and all. We’ll just have to see what she’s made of and if anything can be done to help her out.

Works great with 4 well spaced modes on a cr123a only. When bumped upto a 4.2v rcr123 it only works iffy on high or med mode. High part of the time, a quick flash the rest. After using a rcr123 at 3.9v I got high and med modes only. It’s a nice light it’s just not a 4.2v light

At $17, the z1 and the z2 look like a good deal

Tempting

It’s disappointing not to be able to use Li-ion cells, I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago on the presumption it would use rechargeable cells, Kinda Pee’d that it won’t, still waiting for it to arrive.

Just checked my account, it says order not complete, WTF it’s been two weeks.

Mine said the same thing for a couple of weeks also so I contacted them. They told me not to worry that their shipping status was not always up to date. Make sure that all of your info is correct also. My billing and shipping address were different and they were confused as where to ship it. I cleared that up and my order was received within a couple of days including an additional item that I had only purchased like 5 days before that.

Mine acted weird like that at first also (after trying AW IMR ) but after a few cycles went back to normal operation.

Don’t worry about the status of the orders on there, I’ve got orders that I received six months ago still showing “Not Complete”. They are one of the quicker online shops to process and deliver.

Nice, but CR123 is an uncommon battery form factor, at least in my place.

Thanks guys.

Anybody got the z2?

Mine is on the way (now in red).

You can run LiFePO4 rechargeable in them. I’ve been using these in mine since I got it:

They work very well and it’s honestly one of my favourite lights. You do need a charger able to charge these though (I have a 4Sevens charger).

Funny, that’s how I feel about drivers and their cars when I try to get to work every day.

Just received my Z1 nice light, pity about not taking Li-ion cells. I’ not going into a new cell type just for this one light, I already have a excess of primaries.

Any word on a 18650 version?

Well… not quite ‘ever’. I am a Nobody, but this Nobody definetly needs tailstand every single day for my lifestyle. In fact that’s why I sold my Solarforce P1 to a friend yesterday, that and the fact it was Forward Clicky with no option to get a tailstanding reverse clicky like you can for the L2N, forward clicky is a protocol that places me in the same camp as Gords.

I just realised by accident that SF got these new models Z1/Z2…… :open_mouth:

single CR123 light with clip and XP-G2 ???
‘shut up and take my money’

The eneloop 2400mA performance was a surprise.
High MODE

Not bad!

are you planning to do a (small) review on the Z2?

I’ve written a very small review in the Spanish forum.
