New Ultrafire C8 with XML T6 disassemble

Hi

I just bought an Ultrafire Flashlight from a web site that says that buys from WhaFat directly (Ultrafire manufacturer) and affirms to be the official seller for Spain and Portugal.
It arrived today and because I’ve already done some research on fake Ultrafire flashlights I examined mine.

After the first look I have some doubt about the quality of the metal, the glass and the o rings, but maybe I’m wrong.
The 5 modes switch do not have memory (if I switch off in a mode, when I turn on again it goes to next mode).

So I continued to disassemble all the flashlight until I get to the led itself.

I found a 0,5cm(side) led that seems a T6, but in a LB platform.

Can you take a look at the pictures and try to figure out if is real?
I cannot zoom it more with I phone.

Many thanks

The emitter is most definitely not real. It can be hard to tell by the emitter alone (but not impossible) but they nicely labeled it for you. “LB” stands for LatticeBright, the most convincing manufacturer of clones.

Unfortunately I believe pilotdog68 is correct. However all is not lost, LEDDNA has XM-L2 U3s for sale here for $2.50.

Could be this one ?

But I read somewhere in the forum that the led could be different from the board where its connected.
Is it possible the led be an XML T6 and the board a LB?

“fake Ultrafire flashlights”

Can you say race to the bottom?

Sorry, couldn’t understand what you trying to say.

A closer picture of the led…

This is called “next mode memory” — it remembers where it was, but goes to tne next mode. This is about the most useless form of memory.

Not circular gold pads so more probably fake

And, this is where you should have closed that page and moved along…

By the way, welcome to blf. Its ok to commit newbee

Mistake. For your next purchase (cause i know 1 light is not enough) , ask advice from people here.

Another tip, throw that ultrafire battery since it is a low

Quality battery. Buy the legit led and replace your fake with it so you can have a better light.

Good news,

The seller has sent the wrong flashlight. It seems a confusion in the wharehouse with some fakes that they had received from a buyer. :davie:
They are available to sent me the real one. I will wait and then I will give you some news.

It was definitely a fake.
The glass is poor and with bad cut. The metal is not polished and its very light. The switch has the next mode memory. The led is not the CREE XML - T6. The luminosity was poor for 900 Lm and the led has not the details of the CREE as we know it.
If indeed it is the LB XL (http://www.latticebright.com/En/cpzs1/2015-05/12/NewsView-178.html) then it has only 240 Lm. Only works for close distance. A piece of crap.

Thank you very much for the help.

Glad to hear you were able to expose their cheat.

That was no “confusion” in the warehouse, they just didn’t count on you calling them out. No problem for them though, if 9 out of 10 don’t know the difference, then they are way ahead

Well….
The shop return me the money after I told them to, if they do not have the true flashlight with good metal, good glass, good switch and with the true xml-t6 cree led in stock.

So I let here the name of the shop as other that sell fake ULTRAFIRE flashlights.

The shop is www.ultrafire.es
They sell fakes.
I hope this will show in google search.

And because of that I don’t have any flashlight yet :frowning:
I will ask help in the forum to build one by modifying a cheap one from ebay.

Thank you for the comments.

Looks more like an XP-g on a 14 mm mcpcb.

I have purchased UltraFire products from ultrafire-shop.net and received legitimate items.

After doing a lot of searching and multiple purchases, it appears to be the original and most probable maker of authentic UltraFire flashlights.

The real Ultrafire are a decent quality flashlights. I have a few (RL-2088, RL-168, RL-198, UF-H2b), but they are not cheap.
As far as I know, this is the only shop that sell real Ultrafire flashlights:
