NEXTORCH TA30C Tactical Torch Review

I reached out to NEXTORCH to see if they would like a review of the UT41 signal light so that I could improve my safety while walking across pedestrian crossings at night. I also offered to review a tactical torch and give it to a relative in law enforcement for real world feedback.

NEXTORCH kindly sent a UT41 signal light, and a TA30C tactical torch with an optional tactical ring and holster for review.

Here is my review:

I tested low voltage protection a second time and determined that the torch does not have LVP built-in. The battery has LVP.

I suspected that it didn’t have LVP when connecting it to a bench power supply. But that test involved removing the tailcap.

To ensure that the tailcap didn’t have LVP, I put it back on with an unprotected cell and measured the voltage after 24 hours on High (0.99V).

These tactical torches have complex tailcap designs! Simple to use though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, it’s not easy to test…

Nice review as always. The light IMHO is a pass at that price.

It’s not a “hobby” flashlight. Your employer might buy dozens or hundreds of these and depend on the reliability, ease of use, warranty etc.

My logic is that for this price ($100 range) a law enforcement agency or security company can buy for their employees a Fenix , Nitecore, or Armytec which IMHO all of which are known to be excellent.

Sure, Nextorch is just another competitor.

Nice setup! I struggled to get one probe to stay on the positive spring so I ended up holding it while trying to operate the bench power supply.

Thank you!

NEXTORCH TA30C is a similar price to an Acebeam P16 Gray or an Olight Warrior Mini 2.

Fenix TK20R UE is a good alternative for a higher price.
