Yeah. They glued the reflector in. I just haven’t had the bother to be wrenching around with it yet.
Could a Nichia 219 fit in a Sipik sk68?

I’m of mixed minds about the Nichia 219.
I recently modded a Sipik 58 with a parallel triple 4500k high CRI Nichia 219 and 3.04 amp Nanjg 105c driver. Shortly afterwards, I modded a cut down Roche F12 with a parallel triple XPG2 5000k neutral and 2.8 amp Nanjg 105c. Both lights use the exact same 20mm triple TIR optic and have very similar beam profiles. Both give fairly wide flood with very little throw as expected for lights using such tiny reflectors.
The light with the triple 219: Beautiful creamy tint with excellent color rendering.
The light with the triple XPG2: yellowish white tint doesn’t look as good as the 219, but it’s much MUCH brighter.
I like the tint of the 219, but the output seems to be lacking. I’m used to tiny pocket rockets. The 219 looks nice but its output is distinctly lacking in wow factor. There have been times when I’ve used these lights to look around the house and I’ve concluded that the XPG2 is simply more useful. The extra benefit from the 219’s superior color rendering is simply outweighed by the vastly greater number of lumens from the XPG2.
The only light I use at all, has a Nichia 219 in it, high CRI. It's the Thrunite T10 that was given to me and I changed the Cree to the Nichia. To my eyes, the Nichia just looks "correct" to me and that's much more of a benefit to me than brightness. I haven't found a Cree that looks anything like it. To me, Cree has greenish white leds, harsh white leds and yellow white leds and that's their range, from cool white to warm white. Nichia high CRI just looks more natural and I don't need specs to see that. That said, for a thrower, I think cool white will always appear to be brighter at a distance and I imagine that's because of the stronger contrasts it makes and not the few lumens more than a neutral white.
I did not believe until I saw it but the nichia219 is like night and day when compared to typical neutral whites.
When I got my first neutral white (3c) tint XML, I thought the colors were amazing. Now that I have a nichia drop in, the neutral 3c tint doesn’t do it for me anymore.
Because of the lowish output of the nichia, I’m planning on building a triple nichia219 soon. Going to drive it around 3amps so I should be getting 500 OTF lumens.

They’re okay. I would buy from them again. I also got my Solarforce P1D from them. I didn’t want to wait for China delivery, so I went with them as they are a USA store. Delivery was really fast. I’m not terribly worried about the Nichia dropin, as I can fix it up when I get a mind to. They communicate well, and I’m sure I would have no problem at all returning it, but cross border mailing back and forth is such a pain. I’ll get it unglued and throw in an OP reflector, or just throw the whole works into another empty module. Eventually, I’ll want a blue L2P. I’ll most likely get it from them.
Blue L2P is one of the best looking lights out there, IMHO. I hope they come out with red, violet, and white HA finish.
I think CustomLites is run by Nailbender on CPF, however I’ve never verified that and could be totally wrong.
Since blue is a favorite color, and the only color I don’t have in an L2P….I just ordered one from them. We’ll see how fast it gets here. Pricing is about the same as elsewhere and a flat rate $3.00 US shipping is appealing. They’re based in North Carolina for whatever that’s worth.
I think I paid $12 shipping to Canada. It was a flat rate, so I ordered a few things to make it worth my while. It was mailed on the same day I ordered with full tracking to my door. I got it right away. Sometimes free shipping and waiting three weeks for something from China isn’t worth the bother.
Dale. Let us know your thoughts when you get your L2P. I may just have to get one sooner, as I have a whole whack of empty P60 modules waiting to be built.
I went to order a blue L2P from CustomLites today, and it looks like the shipping price to Canada has gone up.($28) I got the blue bug, so I ordered one from SB Flashlights.($12 shipping)
Does Solarforce Sales take an extra long time to ship to Canada or something. Their shipments to the US usually take 10 days, which seems pretty good for $2 shipping.
I’ve never ordered from Solarforce before. Shipping from China can vary, but ten days is the minimum. Hong Kong post is fastest, because it goes directly to Toronto, where I live. SingPost and ChinaPost go to Vancouver, have to clear customs, then travel accross the country to Toronto.
I’ve dealt with SBFlashlights a few times, and like their service. The difference in shipping is the price of a couple coffees at Starbucks. If I have problems I’d rather deal with Jake than someone in China.
Is it narrow beam all throw or does it have good spill too?
Anyone know of a review on this EDC exclusive Xeno F7 Nichia 219?
It has nice spill. A very usable beam. Im not real big on pure throwers, this one seems to do both quite well. It’s that beautiful, deep, flawless reflector. I was surprised when I saw how much throw it gave that little Nichia219. If you’re looking for an 18650 Nichia torch, this is the one.

I’ve read this elsewhere that the Eagletac D25 neutral is close to the tint of a Nichia 219 high CRI, but much brighter: “the 4500k neutral white tint is a VERY nice neutral white. It looks almost exactly like the output from a Nichia 219 4500k 92 CRI, but much brighter”

Makes me even more interested in a D25 now. I wonder if the same can be said for the D25 with the new updated XM-L2 T6 Neutral White, which apparently is only available in this model:
