Does anyone have or have knowledge of the Nitecore Nu53? It claims 1300 lumens for 9hrs with no stepdown… I’m struggling to believe this and would love some real user specs if possible please.
It would have to step down in brightness unless it can defy the laws of physics.
Don’t expect this light to still emit 1,300 lumen after 9 hours.
- Being a lightweight light, the temperature will rise fast, and the electronics will throttle it before it burns your forehead.
- The specs are to be read differently. After turning it on on max, the light will still emit 130 lumen (10%) after 9 hours. (and even then I would say: well that’s what they claim)
400lm for 9h with 6000mAh batt. possible…
From datasheet:
Looks like it have poor stabilization… ;))
Ah so it looks to be struggling to maintain it even within the first hour
I’m so tired of all of these manufacturers and I mean all of them just about ( besides arguably Zebralight) and their lies and overstated runtimes.
Black diamond company is the first one that started pissing me off with their runtimes years ago.
Their 2 x AA headlamps say they can run 36 hours when in reality their headlamps cannot do that on almost ANY brightness setting besides maybe 5 lumens.
Zebralight is the only brand that comes close to their stated runtimes, even though they lie a little too. I’ve tested my Sc600w on a 180 lumen setting and got 9 Hr 40 min, even though their site says 10 hrs or so. Their site say this light can do 500 lumens for 3 hrs, I got 2 hrs 15 min with a 3500 Sanyo cell.
Every other brand I’ve ever used in the last 15 years lies somewhere between 5%- 50%.
I knew that Nitecore headlamp cannot sustain not only 1300 lumens, but even 500 lumens for 9 hours straight, cause not even my zebra light can not do that.
Zebralight sc700 can do 500 for 4 hours with a 5000 mah battery, which means that nitecore cannot possibly run almost twice as long with only 1000 mah extra capacity.
I’m so tired of not only of their bs, but everyone’s bs.
That ansi fl1 crap needs to be done away with.
Everything should be tested like the zeroair and 1lumen reviews guys do.
Real runtimes.
I’ve noticed even Fenix is now doing the same bs.
Claiming 18 hr runtime at 400 lumens with a 5000 mah cell.
Yes, brightness depends on type of led , heat dissipation, optics and power output. Runtime depends on battery capacitance and driver efficiency. To know real specs you have to know all of this or real life test will do. Just do not buy without real life test - review.
