Received two 2017 TIPs from GB. Everything works OK but I can’t lock out any of them. If I press both buttons light flashes once/twice but that changing nothing. Is there a problem with my TIPs or I do something wrong?
I believe the latest versions do not have lock out, there’s the 30s timer mode instead.
The 2017 version doesn’t have electronic lock-out! I received mine yesterday, and unlike the previous version, this one doesn’t have lock-out. Instead, it has the clip, to “protect” from accidental switching ON.
They revised the battery drain from the previous TIP, but took out the lock-out.
Clicking the 2 buttons changes modes (Daily (1 blink) or Constant-on (2 blinks)). Clicking the mode switch makes the red light blink to know the battery level.
The rest you’ll see It’s a nice little light :sunglasses:
Surprise-surprise :confounded: I should check that but I guess will be a problem using TIP as keychain light.
Thank you for help.
Using the clip may prevent from switching ON, but also makes difficult to rapidly turn it ON when needed.
I would suggest to set it in with the mode 1 (Daily) and leave it in the lowest mode, as it turns OFF after 30 seconds. But even this is not the perfect solution…
They’ve done some things well on the revision, but others…not!
wouldn’t electronic lockout also stop you from turning it on fast? If the goal is to prevent accidental clicks, I like the clip more than I like electronic lockout
Yes, indeed!
But, imagining that we have the light in the pocket, electronically locked out, without the clip covering the buttons. It is easier to click several times the buttons, or to press them simultaneously for some seconds, than to take the light out of the pocket, and to remove the clip out of it!
The process - for me - seems to be easier without a physical barrier like the one created by the clip
BTW, for the good and the bad, the clip makes an excellent job covering and hindering activation!!
I use the mode daily and always turn off in low or medium mode. There are not problem with this, they show in the specs of 2017 version clearly.
Regards.
Hmmm… which Nichias are used in Tip 2017? The light is really cool-ish, compared to MT06MD and I have an impression than deep red isn’t looking good in Tip light.
Agree, needs more red
11.11. TIP CRI from Gearbest has 5000K light color
And almost no tint, pure white
Yes indeed. Quite powerful too with actually decent throw. Very nice for $10, but I would not pay full price for this. I do prefer LAD in red.
