I put silicone around the lens to enhance water/dust resistance. I first removed the lens, then I carefully spread silicone sealant around the edge of the lens and let it cure. Then I re-installed it, a tight fit now due to the silicone.

Silicone sealant? Like RTV silicone? Were you gonna install in a swimming pool? That seems like overkill for a flashlight lol. Do people do that? Idk

Theres tons of solvents for silicone adhesive that could at least loosen it enough to get off. I have no idea which ones wouldnt damage the light though. They’re all pretty strong. I think even the fumes from applying it near the led could mess something up. Mineral spirits, kerosene, brake cleaner…all petroleum based solvents. I guess you could try isopropyl. Idk if it would do anything.

I wouldn’t if one of the greatest lights of all time didn’t happen to leak like a swiss-cheese raft between the lens and the head.

I used a thin layer of Loctite clear silicone sealant from the small tube. It works very well. Next time I will go even thinner so I can get the lens out with tape like I’d hoped to this time.

Oh ya I’m sure it works. You can seal up an aquarium with it
