Noctigon KR1AA is available

I agree, like a 21700 and side switch, version of a lumintop FW1A, in spirit at least. It wouldn’t be hard to offer the same selection of emitters as the D1K, since its the same driver.

Maybe the choice between a reflector and an optic would be best.

There is a super short reflector on KD that should already almost fit and I’m curious what kind of beam it would give.

Regarding triple channel options, I think the DM1.12 would benefit the most. Splitting the outer ring into two channels seems like a no brainer. I’d rather wait a while for a triple switched mode version, vs getting triple linear in a month or two.

The problem with that is that the 3ch driver is linear only, so you wouldn’t have a FET power channel for max output anywhere, only 13A linear (at best).

Fireflylite has been known to make buck+FET lights. I think it makes sense to spec drivers with use cases in mind. More power on flood channel can throw a little further, but there is already a throw channel for that. These lights can’t even sustain their max regulated currents, so any step toward consistent runtimes would be welcome IMO.

@Hank_Wang is green D1K will be available again?

Yes, please!

For what I do, a UV option for the DT8/DT8K would also be welcome.

2 Thanks

I was looking for exactly this and “settled” for a 9.3 just a few days ago. :eyes:

UV is now available as the first channel in dual channel lights!

That right there is the perfect travel light. A couple of 519a’s and the UV. You can look check your room for organic substances and before you leave check under furniture to make sure you don’t leave anything.

2 Thanks

I guess I’m not the only one who shines UV around a hotel room to see the unseen.

3 Thanks

For lack of any other obvious tells, some things are probably best left unknown.

LOL, yep. My issue is that nobody else in the family wants to know, so I have to do it when nobody else is looking and then just quietly move anything that is “suspect”.

Best advice I can give is NEVER use the decorative / throw pillows in hotel rooms. Just don’t.

3 Thanks

@ToyKeeper So I got my second 3ch D4K in, its 519a 5700K DD on the main two, W2 Green, and W2 Blue. I put on the 8/28 version for 151.

Issue: the lowest ramp for the main 2 519a emitters seems very high. If I manually set the lowest ramp (assuming stepped mode) to “1”, it still jumps from the “1” to a rather high ramp level - nothing in between.

Should I try a factory reset? Older version? Thoughts?

UV flashing hotel rooms, ouch.

Reading you folks talk about it makes me even happier to travel in my motorhome: besides sleeping in my own bed every night, any ‘organics’ around are bound to be my own

A triple channel Anduril light I can configure with white, deep red and UV (with ZWB2 filter, OFC) would almost certainly break my resistance and make me buy my first Hank light, despite their non-AT1616 MCU and inconvenient flashing pads…

If you set the smooth ramp floor to 1, with a slow ramping speed, it should be possible to see each individual level from 1/150 to 150/150, though only the bottom section is probably of interest. This should make it pretty clear how each ramp is shaped.

The firmware generates a PWM output of 0/255 at ramp 1/150, or 1/255 at ramp 2/150. If the brightness you want is between those two, there isn’t much I can do in firmware to fix it.

Anyway, could you check the smooth ramp shape?

If you go UV on the 2-emitter channel, it could probably share optics with the dual-channel UV lights. However going with a single UV would require keeping a special optic of limited/niche interest.

Interesting, I hadn’t thought about that but now that you brought it up, it makes complete sense to me.

Thinking a bit more about that: as there would be 2 UV LEDs, what about using different UV-types for each one (eg, UVA in one and UVB for the other)? The idea would be to try and get everything UV-phosphorescent to glow as much as possible, as there are things that will glow better at UVA and others with UVB etc.

Yeah it doesn’t behave like this. Setting smooth ramp, lowest floor level to 1, it starts at 1 then when ramping up, it immediately jumps to a crazy high level.

Here’s an attempt to record it:
