Non Flashlight orders/received

Wow that is nice!

Looking good Mr. VW

A thermal camera

Wow, that is a very nice thermal camera!
And expensive as well

So the wife says she is tired of taking photos with her iPhone. I decide to look around for a simple point and shoot for her. I am not a photography guy at all. I don’t know good from bad or iso to fstop. I did take a photography class in high school but that was just for the easy A and it was close to the smoking lounge in high school. Guess that shows my age a bit, when schools actually had places for their students to smoke. So I got this thing with a touch screen and WiFi and the whole nine yards. She uses it for a total of 5 minutes, puts it back in the box and states she will keep using her phone, the camera is too difficult to figure out and she doesn’t have room in her purse for it. :person_facepalming: Oh well, I tried. Anyone want a super good deal on it just shoot me a PM. Samsung SH100. I have the feeling I am going to be stuck with this thing. My grandkids will find it in the closet 20 years from now and wonder how I ever got by with that antique.

LOL! I still have my Panasonic LX-7 point and shoot. Sometimes I use it to shoot video because it has a tripod mount, so it’s easier to set up than a phone. But from an image quality perspective, it’s no better than my current smartphone.

You’re correct. I studied pictures side by side with my phone (iPhone SE) and I can’t see any difference. Just something else to lug around and wind up losing anyway. It does have a remote viewfinder app. I could put it in the window and use it as a security camera. That is if I can figure out how to keep it on without going into sleep mode.

It arrived some days: The Bolder, EDC wallet, from ArcCompany USA

I'm stuck with far worse as my Wife keeps coming back from the local thrift store with more and more cameras and stuff.

She’s a real camera bug I suppose…

tell her to look for thermal cameras and say her if it works its worth a lot

Is this in retaliation for your flashlight collecting?

You would think so, but she started collecting first

Cameras and dolls, that's what she likes to see and I have them all over the house to prove it

Good idea, really! Going to tell her to keep an eye out for them from now on.

Wonder if there’s a BudgetCameraForum…

Ordered this 1KW watt Variac. It’s not an isolation transformer, but it will work for fixing old tubed amplifiers that may have shorts, etc. Used in conjunction with a current limiter (incandescent light bulb in series with load) and a clamp current meter. It should do the trick.

Got my Variac today. The built-in meter sucks, so I ordered a digital meter that’s an exact fit. The maximum voltage at 122 volts input is 150 volts AC out. In the wrong hands, it can damage your equipment.

At 100%

Milwaukee M12 Heated ToughShell jacket. Cuz negative digits last 2 nights really sucks.
Got a $99 deal I couldn’t pass up with free shipping. Also should be eligible for a free Milwaukee M12 2.0 battery with E-rebate. But free batt rebate gonna take some hoops to make happen as it’s technically not for this color from this authorizes retailer. B&M rebate form should work.

Only have Gray in XL at this price.
MILWAUKEE-201G-20XL

Those Milwaukee M12's I see all the time up here in Canada at Home Depot for $229.00 You got a pretty good deal.

Been looking for a while and keeping tabs on the deals and rebates.
Just submitted the free batt rebate. If the batt comes in, possibly up to 6 weeks, this is basically the ā€œ$229 Kitā€ without the charger for $100.

And OOOOH MAN it is toasty on high.
