That is a good reason for keeping it.
You probably know this, but you can hook up a laptop to a monitor with an HDMI cable (if you have room for a monitor.)
That's what I do.
I like that curved monitor. I’m tempted for my next PC notebook to go with a 14” format and then use an external monitor like that for desktop work.
Yes, my work laptop is 13” - easy to travel with. When I’m working from home, which is 95% of the time, it is going to be hooked up to this monitor.
My old personal laptop was 12.5”. The new one (in the pic) is 15.6” - hard to find a small laptop with high end specs, good cooling, and expandable RAM, so I ended up with something a bit larger than I would have normally preferred.
My family is getting low on packing tape, so I decided to see what I could find online.
(We have always bought whatever is cheap at the store.)
I ordered these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W66GTFS
Then, I thought it would be nice to have a packing tape gun.
I've never used one before, but they look convenient.
I ordered this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LW82SDO
Neither of these purchases are top-of-the-line.
They're pretty good and fairly cheap, and I think it'll be good enough for my family and me.
For when “good enough” isn’t.
I looked at that tape on Amazon earlier.
The tape that I ordered actually has better feedback than the 3M.
I’m going to have a very hard time trusting anyone more than 3M when it comes to tapes. The other brand is some no-name, I doubt very much the product is superior to a good 3M offering. The value for money could well be higher, though. But on Amazon, I’m also wary of paid/fake reviews.
I read a bunch of Amazon feedback for both packing tapes.
The one that I ordered has better feedback than the 3M.
I know that some reviews are fake, but I still rely on reviews.
I’m not a tapeologist or anything, but I once got cheaper tape that you’d just look at it wrong and it’d split and rip. The serrated blade that’d cut the tape, if you tried peeling it up to “start” the roll again, it’d split about 45 times and you’d get nothing but tape-bits all over your fingers. Waste of cash.
I kept that tape only so that I could use those bits to tape up plastic garbage bags like from bread, etc. Ie, snotty tissues would go in ’em, then pour coffee-ook from my french-press into the bag so it’d get soaked up by the tissues, then when ¾ full or when garbage-day would be coming up, give the bag a twist then “seal” with the tape-bits so it wouldn’t unwind.
That was the only way that tape came in handy.
For using as actual packing tape, while some other brands seemed as good as 3M, in the general case it just seems to be wiser to spring for the legit article vs cheaper alternatives.
Ymmv.
3M makes a few different grades of tapes. I have used the Box Lock version for years. My only complaint was that it unrolls with much less pull than most other tapes, so the first time I tried it I ended up with 12 inches instead of just a little. But once I got used to that I loved it. It has held well, applies easily, and doesn’t tear when you don’t want it to. Well worth the extra $ in my opinion.
Weller WE1010NA Soldering Station. I also got some larger tips to go with it.
Nice. I’ve been considering upgrading from my WES51 just for the higher wattage. I wish they’d kept the knob though; I find it faster to adjust.
Thanks. Hopefully I’ll be able to start using it in a couple of weeks. I have a bunch of non flashlight duties that I need to take care of first. My strap wrench hopefully will get here before then and I can try to teardown my old Riverrock 2C flashlight. I would love to see if I can put a newer LED and driver in it.
I received this AV Access HDMI Matrix Switch today.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z4PZMLP
With this switch, I can hook up to 4 devices to 2 TVs/monitors.
I really like this switch so far.
The remote has nice buttons.
I bought it on eBay (brand new) for almost half off, but it was shipped from Amazon.
I used the packing tape and tape gun for the first time today.
Both are excellent, and I had no problem with either one.
The tape is very sticky, too, which is nice.
I received this a few days ago.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0046OFO3Y
I've been using it everyday (for four days now.)
I was looking for inexpensive body lotion that relieves itchiness and does not contain menthol.
My skin is dry, and menthol is drying, so no menthol for me.
Anyway, this lotion is great.
It took about two days, but my skin no longer itches.
Yesterday and today, I only applied it my skin once a day.
I'm hoping that the red areas of my skin (where I was itching) start to look better soon.
The most important thing, though, is that I'm not itchy anymore.
EDIT:
I forgot to mention...
A little of this lotion goes a long way, and it takes many hours for it to be completely absorbed by the skin.
So before I go to bed, I take some tissue paper and wipe the residue off my skin so that I don't get lotion on my bedsheets.
I imagine with the Internet shopping craze, packing tape is also in high demand.

I am going to try it. The winter makes my skin dry and I find myself scratching almost all the time.
