Thanks!
Although I appreciate good audio equipment, I’m fairly clueless concerning the technical jargon.
I’m not exactly an audiophile. laugh

Just looking at the specs and the build, the new amp should be far better. Glad you like it.

I was surprised, for the price, how many highly positive reviews that I read for it. Every once in a while you find a little gem for a good price… But it seems to be getting more rare. Good job finding it.

If I didn’t already have a few amps in this class (all cost a lot more) I would pick one up.

Well, it’s still considered a budget amp.
The Pro version (which I have) doesn’t have a dedicated power button, and I have read that because of the way it’s made, it shouldn’t be left on 24/7, but otherwise I like it. :+1:

SKYRC MC5000

Got it to replace my S4+ V3 that I can’t really trust.

Nice! What’s a good place to buy one?

I bought it on their AliExpress store last Monday during the sale they had. $163.28 Cdn.

Comparison with Sequre S99 and well known flashlights

What sort of actual soldering time can this device supply. I know it will be dependent on the temperature settings.

Or is it simply USB powered and has to be always connected to a power supply? If so, where does the able connect.

Thanks!

Yes, it’s USB powered.

There are wireless soldering irons, e.g. TS1C
But they are a bit pricy and chonky.
They are powered with ionistor and they get recharged automatically when being put in stand/holder.

Thanks. None of the pictures I could find of the thing showed the connector.

I suppose finding a good flexible lightweight cable that is rated for 140 watts would be required…

Maybe getting the package offered with the 140 watt supply might be a good thing to do as well.

This iron comes with a 140W cable (see photo of the box in my first post).
It’s silicone and pretty flexible. The only more flexible high power cable I have is the red “pinecil” one (probably fake). But I just found out it’s rated for 20V 3A only. Didn’t notice that before because Sequre S99 can draw only ~70 watts.

As for power brick, I’d already got one PD3.1 PSU so skipped Alientek’s bundle offer.

XHDATA d219 radio. I like my Tecsun but this is tiny and simple. And it cost £8.50 delivered, about $11.

Oeuf. Looks like I ordered these at the perfect time. Paid 28bux and change per box, and they’re back up to almost 42bux now. Got 4 boxes, was gonna go for another 4.

Nice! I usually go with salmon, but both are good.

I could never get into salmon.

First, they leave in all the spines, beaks, antlers, etc., that I just get seriously turned off. Even if I’d give it to The Cats, they spit out the vertebrae like I was trying to sneak cat-pills into it for them to take.

Second, even if I pick out all the nasties, it’s just “off” when I’d mayo it up like tunyfish. Tried sour cream and dill, mayo/relish “tartar sauce”, you name it. Just can’t do it.

I tried. Oh, I tried.

The cans I buy at Meijer are boneless & skinless. To me, it tastes the same as tuna, but supposedly lower in mercury and higher in Omega-3 content.

they have very different flavor profiles. Canned tuna is very lean, basically the chicken breast of the sea. That’s why mayo works with it. With canned salmon, It’s dry as well, but has that sweet tangy greasy salmon funk to it from the higher fat content. it’s TOO rich when paired with mayo, and too sweet as well. That bitter canned flavor can seep into it also. You’d need a lighter acidic sauce to go with it, possibly a chimichuri, or a thin pesto where the nuttiness draws out the natural tanginess rather than compete with it. A darker balsamic mixed with certain chili oils works too; but you don’t want the sweetness or richness of the sauce to overpower the fish.

Final tip of personal preference is to chunk the salmon into approximately 1/2" slabs before lightly drying it out in the fridge for a couple hours, then mix whatever sauce lightly to marinade the chunks. Then serve over a wheat cracker (or any less sweet cracker with a grainy or nutty flavor) or over seasoned rice.

Mmmm, I’ve looked, but the usual suspects still have the nasties in them.

Might have to look harder.

Ooh, that sounds interesting.

I was wondering about taking a Choinese approach, like honey+garlic, hot pepper, etc., even BBQ sauce. (Ach, forgot what that roast pork is called.)
