If money is no object P1D or L2P are the nicest Solarforce hosts. Still love my L2Ms⦠with L2T head of course! (see my avatar pic)
Regarding the reflectors, I was referring to p60s in general. None of them have perfectly clean beams. Its not just a matter of smooth or OP. I guess their modular nature might work against them there? All I know is my C8s have nicer beams, and compared to something like a Zebralight a P60 is gross. All relative of course.
As far as emitters go, I am a huge fan neutral and warm of XPG2s myself. XMLs get more attention, but I prefer XPG most of the time. Nice thing about p60s is you can get many drop-ins and swap to your hearts content! Have fun!
Its just about the best p60 sized light you could own, thats all. solid host, screw in reflector, emitter directly mounted to the head so about the best heat transfer. Iβve been carrying mine for a few months and I love it.
I guess you're right. I might hold off on the P60 for now.

You can get a C8 from Fastech with your choice of driver and XM-L tint for less than the L2 host alone. ...and they put it together for you. http://www.fasttech.com/products/1601/10002364/1212407 This C8 reflector will give a nicer beam than the P60 reflectors I have: http://www.fasttech.com/products/1203500

I actually have an Ultrafire C8 already ordered. It even comes with the SMO reflector stock. Will be putting a Qlite and an XM-L2 T4 in it.

With the $ you saved put together one of the straight tube 18650 EDC hosts with your choice of driver & LED. Now you have a thrower and compact EDC.

Losing the P60 for a compact EDC sounds very reasonable actually. Not much point in having both a C8 and a p60.
Thanks for explaining. Sounds kinda tempting now but I think I'll put this one off for the time being since I have the C8 en-route. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for this specific form factor though.
