I m building a very nice triple: 3 x 219B (Kaidomain's 92CRI), Convoy S5 as a host and Qlite driver+4chips, did everything right, and upon assembly I think the TIR came out of its holes and ripped off two domes. I had two leds spare so I took it all apart again and reflowed them, everything lit up, and upon testing with the driver: burning smell! driver dead... Need to gather new courage to continue on this :-(

Last time a mod went so wrong, the parts stayed in a box for 4 months and upon continuing I did the mod totally different and better. There's hope :-)
I am sorry to hear that , I can relate I am.not capable of doing mods that intricate, and a couple of months ago I was doing some very basic mods and fried emitter and quite 3.05 amp driver and I wanted to quit and you all helped me pick myself up and try again so I hope you do better next time !

I have a box of fried drivers and emitters to show for my failures. The worst part it’s always some little thing that gets you when you are doing more complex mods. The tough stuff you thing about and get it figured out and then you overlook something simple and then end up having to start all over.
I have a bunch of those emitters on the way, but they are back-ordered now. Of course they didn’t say that on the site until after you pay for them. I hope when they get the new ones in they are still good ones. I bought 15 of them so they better be or they are going back. This is the second order in a row that was back-ordered from them. It gets old fast.
Yup. And I cooked two switches in a row.

Sorry to hear that djozz. My week was last week, fried 4 xml’s trying to find the pwm input on a bicycle light driver, just so it would only have one mode. Final found the right pin. The unlucky week will pass, even if it doesn’t seem soon enough.
It’s a bad week for me too, i ran out of parts for modding
