I kinda like the host. No mention of drive current. Could be a nice light at that price if the quality is decent. Looks to be from the pics - nice thick walls on the battery tube and the weight seems good for the size. Also, the 57mm head would accommodate ~27mm reflectors if put side by side which would be like having 2 x P60 pills next to each other. Two XMLs driven at 2.8A each would have pretty good output and nice combination of throw/spill.
I can't quite tell from the pictures, but it looks like the reflector/pill may be well heat sunk if it makes good thermal contact with the head. If it's another one of those "floating head" designs, I would pass.
A lot of these companies could learn from DX and post all the info they can get. Not that you can rely 100% on any of them but at least DX gives a little better description.
This would have been nicer with a 26650 option as well.
Agreed - but many of these vendors a "fly-by-the-night" operations that may be gone in 6 months and, being a distributor as opposed to manufacturer, they may not understand the details of the products, only providing information based on what is given to them.
Nevertheless, I am intrigued by this light and have been doing more comparisons with well known lights. I am very tempted by the shear weight alone, as it is considerably heavier than other lights of similar size like this one and this one. Weight wise, it seems to be comparable the UF-T60 light which has been "Foyapproved" here and also available for the cheaper at DX here. But, being a vendor I am not familiar with makes me hesitant. Perhaps it will show up on some of our better known suppliers' sites. Either way, thanks for the heads up!
Just got final price quote. Shipping is extra $10, so that brings total to $40.65. It seems less like a deal, especially for an unknown light. I think I'll sleep on this...
