Now that the older Nitecore I4 2014 version is discontinued, there are bargains while the pipeline empties. Or, as some say, ‘good value for the money.’
I bought one in August for a buddy who doesn’t want to fiddle with buttons and readouts. It was $13.88 here, now crept up to $45.55:
I have Nitecore i4 before and it’s not reliable, that the voltage indicator is very inaccurate (I’ve made comparison and confirmed this with my multimeter).
My 2 VP 2’s voltage readouts are very accurate according to my Fluke 289 multimeter. End of charge is never higher than 4.206 to 4.21 volts while monitoring with the Fluke in real time. My batteries settle down to 4.18 to 4.19 after about a minute or so. BTW, I have several Xtar chargers from the original WP2, MP2, 2 VP1’s (I gave those to two of my friends and replaced them with 2 VP2’s, 2 SP1’s, and I just ordered the SV2 Rocket so I can charge my 26650’s at 2 amps. The SP1 does 2 amps, but they have no dispay. I’ll probably end up selling those.
I have one Xtar WP2 and one VC4, and yes both of them charge very accurately. As for reliability I can yet to say anything because I just started to use them not long ago. Time will tell, but I have a feeling that Xtar is pretty good.
Btw the battery spring slider is smoother than the Nitecore i4 of mine, another positive thing for the Xtar.
Just got my SV2 Rocket. It’s got the smoothest sliders so far out of all my Xtars. As far as reliablility, none of my Xtar’s have given me any problems including my 5 year old WP2. I can’t say enough good things about them.
