On Hold: Venting Li-Ion in a Light

Let’s say it was an intentional discharge gone wrong.

It is not good to hear that... I did not run any test (except once when 4,2 battery charged to 4,4V with bad charger, but no any problem with that battery).

I want to say that I am concerned now about this exploding stuff with over-discharging because sometimes even bad charger can overdischarge cell(that also happened to me several times with budget chargers but there was no explosion).

It wasn’t the battery’s fault, I was checking to see if it could do 60 amps. It can but not for long.

Probably the CID tripped. This is exactly what it’s meant to do: disconnect the cell when internal pressure rises due to forced overcharge.

You might need some cheap XxxxFires without CID or PTC to get spectacular results.
