I am moding a mini mag and kinda not sure what is better rather using xml-2 runing at 3A with stock reflector or 3x XPG2 in parallel runing at 3A also with 3up lenses i will be using 2x TrustFire 14500 3.7V 900mAh in series
so what is bettter . brighter ?
I have both, the xml2 at 3A is bright, but the small reflector kinda sucks. The 3 XPG2 is great, no boring out the head of the minimag is needed and its just as bright as my p60 sized 3up’s. It does get hot on high though. I used a 1/4” thick by 3/4” round piece of copper rod for the heatsink
can you recommend me a 3A driver that can handle high volts as i am going to use 2x TrustFire 14500 3.7V 900mAh in series ?
OR a 3A boost driver if i used 2x rechargeable AA battery’s that each of them gives 1.2 volts so both will be 2.4 volts
Well i use 8x7135 drivers on both. You could always use an AA dummy spacer. I also have a minimag with a 3up nichia using this driver, Its not quite as bright but works great with 2xAA,1xAA or 1x14500.
an AA dummy spacer is a good idea but using 2 AA will provide more running time ,and how can a 8×7135 drivers work with only one AA it is 1.2 volts ?
the minimags using 7135 boards only use 1x14500.
Kind of 6 of one half dozen of the other. Both will be bright, both will get hot, the triple will probably have the tighter beam profile. The triple will definitely have the looks…
I went with the triple on my new chopped AA MiniMag from TexasLumens because I like the look and I’m not really one to take the easy road. 
Have fun with it, whichever way you choose to go.

I used this driver for my triple 219 Mini-mag, just stacked 4 more 7135s for 3 amps. Again, it’s single Li-ion only.
I have several 14500 MMs so I chose to use a 14650 battery in this one, I kind of like the slightly longer host. I have the parts sitting on the bench for another one with XP-G2s but haven’t had to time to do it lately.
The driver Bob linked looks interesting, I may pick a few up to play with next time I order from FT.
gamezawy, the Carclo 10507 can be found at various suppliers with IS 10507 being one of them, but they seem to be out at the moment. I think I might have gotten mine from Mouser, which has crazy high Intl shipping fees. According to the Illumination Supply site above, the beam is 24º in conjunction with Cree XP-G2 emitters.

man i really want that lens to be able to mod my minimag with 3x XPG2, i konw now that 1x XM-L2 may give the same light output but
3x XPG2 on that Noctigon 3XP MCPCB are super Sexy :heart_eyes:
