Ordered Convoy S2 on FT, so confused which 18650 to buy.

so I ordered the S2, but am struggling with the sizing of the 18650. Was thinking of getting my grubby paws on the famous 3400 protected Panasonic NCR18650B, because I read that’s it’s a solid battery, but not sure if it will fit!?

S2 can host any 18650 battery, even those 70+mm long.

My last order came with a little magnet to support flat top cells. It is a great little light.

It will fit, but i opted to go with the sanyo ur18650fm, for having more time at full power vs the panasonic which will start losing brightness more quickly as the battery is draining.

Just a FYI, if you remove the little isolator black plastic thing on the tail cap you won’t need that on the 105c convoy S2’s. It holds back the spring so once it is removed the added length makes for pretty reliable action with unprotected flat tops.

There is no more stress added to the cells and it’s easily reversible. I like the magnet touch too but I found it somewhat unreliable when I used it everyday and it worried me about possible shorts during use or storage.
