I’ve posted a few times already, but didn’t notice this forum at first. So I’m late, but here goes.
I’ve been a software engineer/enterprise architect for 30 years. I wasted a lot of money on cheap chinese crap lights before I discovered BLF, and now I spend too much money on inexpensive but high quality chinese treasures.
My current obsession is high CRI. My old programmer eyes need all the help they can get, and finding the dog’s gray-green ball on the brown-green lawn at night, or worse, pre-dawn or dusk, is much easier with 1 or more 219b emitters.
So here’s my current high CRI collection including my first build (the S2+, obviously):
I’m actually slowing down now. Don’t laugh, but most of my flashlight needs are pretty well met. I’ll probably need to add some more Thorfire, Jaxman, and Convoy lights. I don’t own any Utorches or Eagle Eyes, so I’ll likely rectify that situation eventually.
Wow, a fellow BLFer from not only Utah, but Orem! Me too! Suddenly I don’t feel so alone in the world. Your collection photo is not showing up for me but I’m also a bit tint-obsessed.
I enjoy a little overkill myself. I frequently walk my dog around the neighborhood with a Convoy L6. Definitely not needed with the excess of street lights around here but that light just makes me smile!
Thanks. I don’t have a 90+ CRI AAA. My wife carries a Convoy AAA on her key ring. My current EDC is the S41 or a BLF A6, but if I ever think that’s too big, I’ll carry the S2+ with the 18350 tube.
I don’t really like alkalines, and the 18650-tubed S41 in my pocket doesn’t bother me.
