Ozark Trail 615 lumen with portable power.

That seems to be the name of the thing. There is a good video about this on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvQG_2qX1nQ so I will just add my 2 cents worth. The light has a weird battery with 3 terminals. The label on the light says do not unscrew no usable parts inside. So it looks like Ozark Trail will not be selling replacement batteries. The battery end does not unscrew however the other end does in two places. Now I can see where some one would want to be able to clean or replace the plastic however the casual user does not need access to the LED module. I payed $25 for the light in a damaged box. I was looking for a battery pack with a USB outlet and a second light to put on the handlebars of my bicycle. This fits both needs and saves me a bit of space. When the battery does get old I will force the end off and replace the battery with a LCR battery. It was unclear from the video wether a replacement battery can be charged from the USB port on the light but is was clear that the 3 terminal battery is necessary to get power out of the USB port. The light takes 2 amps in and allows 1 amp out. I suggest not to buy their portable power lights until some one makes replacement batteries.

i bought one of those at walmart…

they were selling several versions… a smaller 1 cell, and 2 different rated 2 cell versions…

then they appeared with different packaging, same basic lights…

theres nothing mysterious abut the battery…

mine was 2 li-ion cells in series, inside a blue plastic wrapper… had some protection circuit on the 2-cell wrapped package…

shrugs

you can take OUT the “special battery” its not mysterious… i just dropped in 2 unprotected laptop pulls? and it still works just fine.

it seems to just be a “rebranded” chinese light… i have seen what appears to be the exact same light on various chinese sites…

for what its worth? i like mine… i just get more use out of a zoomie, so, i dont use it much… i keep it charged up though, and its handy to recharge a cell phone with when you are fishing…
