These two brands of usb-c rechargeable D batteries seem pretty similar, except the EEMB version has 500 more mah and cost less than half as much. Anyone have experience with both?
I’m simply looking for something for my flameless candles so it‘s hard to justify the cost of PaleBlue but I also worry the EEMB might be cheap under performers.
I assume you mean those little candles with the small flickering ‘flame’? The take measly power. You don’t …need…1.5v, and usually run on AA or AAA.
Likely you could use nearly dead alkaline batteries and they would work, possibly for a long while. BUT, you risk leakage with ‘alkaleaks’ and the problems with that .
The 1.5v lithium are very expensive, have less capacity than a good NiMh, and due to the electronics have a steady state low grade self-discharge. I suspect they won’t last as long as a decent NiMh, and cost a lot more.
FWIW, I’ve played around with a few different AA/AAA brands. They almost ALL overstate their capacity (often double), and I suspect longevity. I seriously doubt you can rely on anything printed for either brand.
I am using them in these, which I realized after posting, actually use C-cell batteries, not D-cell.
I liked the idea of the USB-C rechargeable Lithium batteries as I thought my wife might find them easier to use and would save me from having to buy a C-cell compatible charger.
As others have suggested, however, a simple AA to C adapter is probably the way to go.
