Panasonic NCR18650A 3100mAh cells discharge test (2928mAh 1st cycle 3074mAh 2nd 3120mAh 3rd)

Does anybody know if the Protected ones can deliver 2.8A?

It looks like it cant.. from what I read before.

Benckie, do you know the max A? (with PCB)

Mine could deliver 3 amps close to down to 3 volt but the battery droped about 40 to 45% of the mAh and run time and both PCB,s tripped at diffrent amp rates and diffrent voltages, so im going to have to say no they cant.

If you have not brought any yet look at this thread, 5.2 amp discharge with protected batteries no worries.

Thanks Benckie, there is already one on its way.
(I actually didnt want to pay over $10 for 1 battery, but after seeing that the 3100mAh Panasonics were really good, I went ahead and ordered one, before your tests).

thanks again for your explanations.

Panisonic suggest the maxium discharge on these batteries is 2C, 6.2 amps, so i thought ill give it a go and include some graphs.

6.2 amp discharge test from 4.16 to 2.5 volt.

Data table (at the end of cycle)

Volts VS mAh

Volts VS Wh

Battery tempture at the end of test

55.6 degrees C

So you see, not that much of a diff between 3 and 6 amps.

There is a diffrence between 0.5 amp and 1 amp and there is a diffrence between 1 and 3 amp and a diffrence between 3.1 amp and 6.2 amp at 6.2 amp the cell can not main the voltage as high as 3.1 amp and at 6.2 amp the discharge curve is steeper and takes a longer to level out, the diffrence in maintaining voltage is upto 0.5 volt from 0.5 amps to 6.2 amps but over all performance is good and pritty equal

I'm sorry to drag up an old post. But I just wanted to ask if these are OK to use in my BC40. The only batteries I have are protected. But these seem to be a little more able to take abuse, i.e. go down to 2.5v (panasonic say 2.3v min) Therefore is protection as important on a cell like this?
