Panasonic NCR18650PF specs?

Hello. I received 2 Panasonic NCR18650PF batteries from a known seller that I won’t name right now because maybe I am over reacting and don’t want to hurt their reputation.

I know these batteries appear to be fairly new but something feels odd about these batteries and I wouldn’t expect a fake from something so new. The batteries just feel very light in the hand and the shrink wrapping reminds me of some crappy red ultrafire from the past. There is a few bubbles on the one end of the shrink wrap. I never had a panasonic before ,maybe I just expected them to be perfect. I weighed the batteries and one weighs 45.80 grams and the other weighs 45.83.

Does anyone have these batteries to weigh and compare your figures to mine?

Thanks

I got 46.7 grams on the heaviest of the Orbtronics with added button top: http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Orbtronic%2018650PD%202900mAh%20%28Black%29%20UK.html

Hmm. Interesting. And no protection circuit on the orbtronics?

Can you post some photos of the battery in question?

Usual high current batteries does not have protection circuit.

That’s what I was figuring, but your PD batteries are 1 gram more in weight so figured it had a protection circuit that made it weigh more. How do I post a pic?

You can see the cell under the wrapper and it appears to have all the same markings as other panasonic photos on the internet.

Do you have a caliper to check the exact measurements? Its given in mm to two decimal points in the datasheet.

I have a caliper but I would have to tear the wrapper off. :frowning:

Max. size is give to two decimal places, but no min. size.

Datasheet gives max dimensions with the wrapper as well as bare. Less exact with the wrapper but still worth checking if its over the max.

Friend your cells are perfectly fine... Don't unnecessary upset yourself...

I have 15 sets(30 batteries) of NCR18650PF and they are exactly as yours in weight, height(and probably from same vendor) and they come charged at 3,61V each

Date code CAV 3723 (compare and report if you have same date code)

They are lighter than Sanyo 2600 red and NCR18650B cell.

But that does not matter. I can not imagine better cell for 3A nanjg single cell light than this one...

It gives more lux than any cell I tried so far and 22-25 minutes runtime without any visible light drop.

With Sanyo red light starts falling after 15 minutes... With NCR B after 18-20 minutes...

This are not accurate measurements but they are mostly correct.

Thanks for the info everyone. I was just a little skeptical because they felt light and had a few bubbles in the green shrink wrapped cover.

Mine showed up with 3.56 and 3.52 volts.
