Well,here goes....I came up with an idea to convert a series 18650 set up to parallel by use of a custom battery magazine.This would increase runtime and facilitate use of the 7135 driver and it's programming flexibility.I realize it would involve boring the battery tube and fabricating a holder and at this point it's a few "napkin" sketches and ideas floating about.I think this would be great for modding but I don't know if anything short of resin casting would work for something like this.I searched for a pre-made carrier like this but no luck.Any opinions or input would be appreciated.DARC
I had a similar idea, but with regards to a mag body where you have the space to play with, not sure about an 18650 body, there would be so much less space to play with. I do agree though, being able to just fit a 17mm 3a driver for example would make life a lot easier :bigsmile:
I almost forgot about this idea,it seems to be more of a pain to make one than anything, I may do up one just to prove to myself I can.IMO,properly made battery carriers would not be unsafe,foolish mistakes in handling and poorly made batteries are more of a concern.
I converted a parallel holder to series for a CNQG longrun mod with excellent results.
Try it. If it works post the results and bask in glory and wealth. :money_mouth_face: If it doesn’t, post it and save someone else the misery and missing digits. :*
I’ve been thinking of doing this as well. Really no excuse not to try, given that there’s a milling machine and a metal lathe not 20 ft. from where I sleep
