I made a small review of the very similar SAiK SA-305 here. 1D Cell fits just fine in the light, but with 1.3 Volt it doesn't light up. Battery compartment is ~65.5 long and ~32.5 mm wide if you are sinking about inserting a IMR Battery.
I liked the other one.. it looks like a 1D maglite.. but i Think i will cancel the order and go for the Saik. A guy from ForoLinternas modded the Saik with a 50mm lenses and works pretty well.
I am interested in using 3AAs because they are available everywhere and have a good runtime.
I know I have to improve my english :P
I just had hoped for an aluminum reflector and a glass lens.... but you can't have it all.
