Ah crap, looking at the photos of the carriers, it looks like the “button-top” Samsung 30Q’s I got from banggood won’t fit.

I have some of the same and the raised flat top measured 7.3mm. TA said up to 8.5mm will fit. So check the diameter. Hopefully yours will fit as well.

They are EVVA branded Protected 18650 batteries, with rather wide/broad Button Tops.

What I am concerned about is the size of their Button Tops and their fitting or not fitting the Reverse Polarity Protection in the shipping BLF GT’s Battery Carriers.

Their Button Tops are about 1 mm in height, and about 9.5 mm diameter, and I was wondering if they will fit in the BLF GT’s battery carriers/holders.

I thought you had the Proto V2, and you could Please have a look at the carriers.

Ah, ok now I see what you are asking.

Sadly it does not look like the button tops will fit. I just measured the opening and they are 8.5mm across.

You can remove the polarity protection with a simple soldering iron or even a heat gun and if using protected cells anyways you really don’t need it.

Just solder blob them. First you want to sand the terminal or scratch it. Then once roughened, apply some flux.

In my experience no need to do anything prior to soldering, I don’t even use extra flux just rosin core soldering wire (contains flux already), works every time for flat top samsung or sanyo/panasonic cells.

Wonder how many people here in Sweden that will get this light. It can’t be that many.

I am not, as I don’t really use FB any more. I think only a handful of GTs will come to Sweden…but if several end up closeish together we should try to arrange a giggle-meet.

Don’t forget The Miller, he said he got his a few days ago as well in the other thread he made.

Did this happen to any one else? after I payed my GT, I only got a email from paypal but not the email confirming from the seller.
