[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

was browsing some of my subscribed threads just now and saw this.
its from just a little over a year ago
shows you how fast this led tech is progressing

……………. comment is on the tn42, after it came out……………

“” Wow, 600kcd! That’s crazy for a stock light! I wonder if there would be any modding potential or is that about the max we can expect ? “”
lol, now we are exactly double that with the BLF GT, stock.
Let the mods begin!

I’m not sure Muto understands. There are no steps or parties that need aligning. So far, there has been no hitches. The only exception I can think of is for one person who ordered cells with his light, but it was shipped without them. I’m sure he will get them, it will just take a little longer. Is that the hitch he is refering to? Neal already has the batteries there at Lumintop. He is putting the cells inside the light to make it easier for them to be shipped. This helps many people who have trouble ordering cells for their country.

It’s nice if you can get cells locally, but not everyone can.

FET+1 driver, 4 parallel carrier times 2 for run time. Bingo! Don’t belive me? The Q8 pulls 20+A on one set of 4 cells. Stock. I’ve doubled the output on my Q8 with SST-40’s and a lot of tweaks. Can’t take an amperage reading but it’s got to be up over 30A. And, to prove the driver is capable, I used a Zener modified FET in my DBC-05 with 3 XHP-70.2’s. It makes 18,940 lumens pulling 32.2A from a pair of iJoy 21700’s in series. Driver isn’t a problem to run the Luminus CFT-90 to it’s full potential. I’ve had a SBT-70 pull 20A from a single 18650.

Thanks, Jason WW for the update. I had actually sent an email to Neal, to see if it was p[ossible to upgrade the shipping method, from register mail to DHL. I havenot gotten a replied from Neal. The only reason I chose register mail for the shipping method, was because I was under the impression that choosing DHL, would automatically incur tax duties here in the US, upon arrival, but I been reading how a lot of people here in the States, actually chose DHL as the shipping method. I guess IU will not be seeing mt GT until February if I’m lucky. Maybe longer?

The GT is too cheap to incur any tax duties. I think it needs to be over $800 for that to happen. Registered shipping takes about 2 weeks I believe, so it just depends on when it ships.

To all new buyers, DHL is highly recommended for those in the usa. It costs the same as registered, but is much faster.

DHL is the best, fastest, most professional, by far, shipping company ive ever dealt with.
several phone calls to them, they pick up the phone everytime, speak VERY clear english, and were a joy to deal with.
hats off to those guys for sure :+1:

I had the same impression and chose registered shipping to the states as well. I emailed Neal and requested the change to DHL same as you. I didn’t get an email back but the change was made and my GT made it in under two days! There is a chance!

I agree… you guys probably heard this already… this DHL driver have to go ER, and managed to delivery one of the blf gt to the customer on the same day…

Archangel72, I’m sorry to hear about your Grandma. :frowning: Words don’t really help, but maybe shining your GT up to her will be a nice way to say hi every time you get it out. Sorry for your loss.

Could someone please tell me the size of the MCPCB, used the search feature and still could only find two references, Thank You

With batteries now? So shipping seams to be america first, rest of the world second. Sounds all too familiar

America probably has the biggest group of lights going there. So if Neal is trying to fill up pallets, then it makes sense. Blame him.

That darn Neal! He shafted us again! Grrrr.

Lol. Just kidding.

Neal was involved in this project very early. Without him the GT might not have been made. It is still early days. You did not expect all 1000 lights to be shipped in under 2 weeks, during Christmas and News Years to boot, did you? No, now that the holidays are over you can expect more shipments coming. Hopefully most of the 1000 lights can be shipped before mid January when another 500+ orders come in.

I’ve got a message from Lumintop:

Hi, for Europe, we can not determine the exact shipping time at that moment, just be a little bit more patience. Once they are ready, I will update you.
Thank you for your understanding and Happy New Year! :)

So we have to be patient, and I will get an update when they are ready to ship.

I think Texas_Ace said it was 35mm, but I don’t know if anyone has actually measured it for sure. We know 20mm mcpcb are too small. Hopefully someone who has taken the head off can measure it. EDIT: It’s actually 45mm.

Another page, another post.

LATEST NEWS:

USA orders with batteries seem to have shipped out today. Notifications are showing up.

It seems the first shipment went out by region instead of the exact order in which we paid, for cost reasons.

Initial quality has been fantastic. A handful of people have gotten opaque black switch covers instead of translucent black. Replacement switch covers are being sent on a case by case basis.

The first shipment of lights (168 total) shipped on Dec 23. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 576th person on the paid list that did not include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Dec 27 and lights started arriving to customers on Dec 29th. DHL shipping was very fast and is recommended for all USA buyers in the future.

There should be a European order going out soon.

The next group to purchase lights (#1040 and up on the list or who signed up after 10/23/17) will get their emails mid January instead of early January in order to let Neal get caught up with current orders.

Wow, that customs situation sounds like a real hassle. Why is it such a problem?

They can have it first, but GT have all European origins
Idea born in France, designed in Croatia, finished in Germany, all calculations and great expertise from Netherland… and so on …

Oh man, what a project, and what a successful cooperation between people from different countries and continents…

We should all be grateful for having a chance to get this unique flashlight…

Shipping is how it is, but everyone will get their Lights delivered, and that’s the most important :sunglasses:

Ha Ha Thank You Jason, that is sort of funny that there actually aren’t any references that I could find as to the confirmed or final decision as to the size of the MCPCB
Thanks for the answer though,

Stopped by a gas station tonight after work and wooed all the people there with the GT. A few took out their cell phones and started filming. One guy said he was going to get on the list to order one.

I would measure mine, but I cant get the darn head off the body. It’s on there too tight.

If anyone can give an accurate size, let us know. Also let us know how small a mcpcb can fit. I think it was said a 32mm will fit, maybe a 27mm?
