I am too busy to give a proper update tonight but I just wanted to let you know first off it is possible this thread could need to be ārestarted to give team-giggles more posts to organize the thread better, so donāt get too attached.
Also I have finally got in contact with Neal and lumintop and things are moving forward in a good direction. A lot is happening and a lot of issues being sorted out.
I hope that problems will start being fixed much faster now.
Iām a happily married man, and comfortable in myā¦Manliness, but Dengohās post has made meā¦enviousā¦
FYI Iām sure most of you know this, but since this is a new thread, you are not subscribed to it. The OP (post #1) has a handy subscribe button at the bottom (all you have to do is find it).
The old thread was causing the entire BLF server to crash so the admin was forced to split the thread to keep the entire BLF site working properly. I would have preferred a single thread myself.
I will deal with this thread more in the morning. It needs some clean up.
To be honest, I hadnāt posted in the GT thread for a long time, and I had no idea it was so insanely slow to post to. How long has it been like that? I hadnāt really received any complaints about it until very recently.
It has been getting steadily worse for the last several weeks. It happened all the sudden a few weeks back, around the time you were running maintenance on the site come to think of it. I had figured at the time you were trying to fix the thread.
Iāve said it to Texas_Ace via PM, but Iād like to say it publicly again: Thanks so much for all the legwork youāve put into this amazing project, we couldnāt have done it without you.
Ya, the sluggishness happened since like one to two weeks ago. Feels like it cross certain size of file or memory boundary that is doomed, or someone(not necessary you) made changes to something that cause it.
Yay, the most important person of this project ā¦. Thanks for all your hard work, Neal - it is very much appreciated! :+1:
And no offence to the other contributors - Iām sure most people are very aware of how much work has gone into this ā¦ Iād raise a glass to all of you if it wasnāt time to sleep!
Batch #3 lights are starting to arrive, including USA.
Batch #3 PM/emails have been sent on April 18th. People #1050 to #1425 on the list can buy their lights. You have until May 3rd 2018 to pay for them. More details here.
It is super important that everybody have their Paypal account info up to date. Shipping address, your name, email and phone number is all pulled from there. More details here.
(DHL shipping is very fast and is standard for all USA buyers)
The last 50 lights seem to have been sent out from March 13 to 29. Problems are currently being sorted out by Neal and TA.
A 5th shipment of 185 lights went out on Feb 9th. This includes registered packages. So this means about 800 of the 850 lights have shipped. The next shipment of reflectors should take care of the last 50 orders.
The first shipment of lights (168 total) shipped on Dec 27. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 576th person on the paid list that did NOT include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Dec 27 and lights started arriving to customers on Dec 29th.

The second shipment of lights (194 total) shipped January 3rd. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 740th person on the paid list that DID include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Jan 3rd. Lights started arriving on January 5th.
The first 2 shipments went out by region instead of the exact order in which we paid, for cost reasons and because there were not enough DHL orders to fill a pallet for anywhere except the USA.

The third shipment of lights (138 total?) shipped on Jan 8/9th with and without batteries through DHL in Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia, Germany, Canada, Malaysia and Australia. Some people got notifications, some didnāt. I have not heard of any registered mail packages shipping yet.
Only a few tracking numbers went out on Jan 9th and lights started arriving to customers on Jan 10th. Apparantly Lumintop was very slow to give Neal the tracking info or info on which lights they sent.

4 shipments have been made. A little over 600 lights in total. So there are a little over 200 more lights to ship from the current group of paid customers. This is a mix of early and late purchases. Mostly people who requested registered mail shipping.
A 4th shipment of about 125 lights went out on Jan 19th. This is a mix of USA and international orders. Several of these lights have already been delivered to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Amsterdam, Slovenia etcā¦ FedEx and TNT are also being used.
Initial quality has been fantastic. A handful of people have gotten opaque black switch covers instead of translucent black. Replacement switch covers are being sent on a case by case basis.
M4D M4X: For all people who want to let us know the value that should be declared on the parcels:
please take the BLF GT customs declaration survey.
.
M4D M4X: You can buy 8 of the button top Samsung 35E batteries (seem ideal, high mAh and good amps) for $40 when you buy your GT. No sign up required for these. Battery details are here.
Received tracking number on 16th March and got my GiganticTorch yesterday (20th March), which i went to pick up myself once the status showed it reaches local warehouse simply because i cant wait any longerā¦
Box is fine and everything inside is fine, im glad its not wet, opened or damaged. I am really speechless once i opened the box, the real thing is soooooooooooooo much bigger from all the pictures iāve seen here. Rough inspection, thereās a ding* on the reflector, not sure if it affects the beamshot, not time to test it yet, no battery at the moment. Also, the reflector appears to be a little bit OP on this batchā¦ kinda different from what other peoples posted hereā¦ Anyway, im a happy man!
Thanks BLF, thanks to those who were involved for their hard work and patience!
I find this post quite funny to read. Is it only me thinks that way? I find it a bit rude towards SB who created this new thread, even though OP seems to have no idea what is happening, he could have asked for the reason nicely.
And if more people think it is rude and click the rude button, is it SB will need to deal with OP?
I imagine funny conversation like below:
OP:Why people click my rude buttons?
SB:Because you were a bit rude to me.
OP:Sorry but who are you?
SB:I am the one took the smart move and created the new thread.
Interesting shipping detailsā¦ as mentioned in a previous post, it appears simultaneously in HK and Los Angeles. Looks like itās been air-delivery most of the way, but a guess tells me that itās currently in Honolulu, and itāll go on a barge from Oahu to Kauaiā¦ maybe in my hands by Friday!
@ samnavyā¦ā¦ I am pretty sure that has to do with the time difference between Hong Kong & LA. I think it is around 15 hoursā¦ā¦ Hong Kong being ahead of LA.
