The long/double carrier GT tube is for balance, proportions and runtime. One XHP35 can run comfortably off 4x18650. Two carriers only provide for longer runtime. Unless you do need that extra runtime, it is more a matter of taste between the long and short tube.

I don’t think you’ve been following this thread.

(Actually, no one has done a double battery carrier test, yet)

MRsDNF did the 4 battery run-time tests about 7 or 8 months ago (?) when the first prototypes were made. His results are in post #3. You would basically double his times to see what 8 batteries will do.

Also remember that those runtime tests are with the short tube 4 cell version, 45 mins from 4 cells before even dropping out of regulation! That is properly good.

So expect about double that from a long tube with a full 8 cells.

About 1.5 hours of full powered runtime and another ~1.5 hours before it hits LVP.

Someone did a runtime test with both a single and 2 carriers, I forgot who it was. It was in a review thread.

They were pretty close to the numbers Del got IIRC.

I shouldn’t, but I’m willing to pay, as long as it’s reasonable.

So, if I pay for shipping the batteries, they can add to the package the short tube I want to buy.

Yes, as soon as the script is ready for the mass PM’s they should go out.

IIRC TA said a couple of days ago this time would be for 400.

Yes, this next batch will be 400 lights for the GB and 50 lights for he public.

We will finish off the last of the GB at the end of next month if all goes well.

This time around all the lights should ship within 2 weeks since they have stocked up on the reflectors.
