Photos of Your Old Vehicles That Bring Back Special Memories

We’ve been cleaning closets, storage boxes, etc. for the past several weeks. We’ve uncovered things we had forgotten about mostly, some that we had not even looked at in decades. (Unlike some folks, we have lived in the same place since 1985, so there is a lot that has never had to be moved).

Here are two photos of a 60’s (I forget the exact year) Bedford Dormobile that I owned in 1973 - 74. We traveled through and around most countries in Europe, starting and ending on the Isle of Man. Lots of memories in 10 months of vagabonding.

Both photos somewhere in the mountains of what is now Kosovo or Macedonia on the way to Greece. Darn cold.

That baby is quite the Shagging Wagon.
Looked it up the wiki and saw the top hinges on one side and comes up pretty high?
Thing is cool.

What is the engine, gas, diesel?

Yes, the top hinges and provides great headroom. There is space for two fold open cots up there; one each side.

1500 cc gas burner, Three speed tranny; 3 on the tree.

The sunny location was someplace in Greece. We hooked up with some Brits there for a few weeks.

That’s really cool, Don. Interesting vehicle and story!

This one is a little different than your “old vehicle” in that I still own it (and drive it on occasion). 1948 Ford F-1 including an original-ish flathead V8. I bought it about 10 years ago. My Dad (an old car guy) and I spent a lot of good times working on it. Sadly, he passed 6 years ago and progress has slowed a bit. But it definitely brings back some bittersweet memories. And heck, maybe it’s something I can “complete” with my kids as they grow up.

Photo taken from picture frame. Me in 1981!

My Dad collected sports cars. This is a Jensen Interceptor. European body with a 440 Chrysler engine. Not sure of the model year.Somewhere in the mid Seventies.

The front of the car reminds me of a Camaro, the back of a Targa Porsche.

.2000 KIA Sportage. We had to sell it when we moved back home, Oregon is a Beautiful state.
