Pimp My Ride (Bicycle)

Show us some pics of your ride. I just got this an am pleased as punch with it. Bikes sure have come a long way since the 90’s, which is when I last seriously trained on a road cycle. Looking forward to getting out and getting fit. It’s the last of this year’s model and I got for a huge discount as the new models are coming into the cycle stores now. Gotta love sale time! Giant TCR Advanced all Carbon frame in XL, full Ultegra group set. Rides like a dream!

This is my race machine it’s Scot foil Frame which I got From China direct then used my SRAM Red from my old race bike a Focus Cayo. Planet X 50mm Tubs, Easton Bars. It’s pretty light around ~6.5kgs

I have more heavy cavalry to mount flashlights on :open_mouth: We don’t like smoke from cars!

Nice bikes! I've rented a Giant like yours Pretzy on a trip - rode like a dream. That is the first China direct bike I've seen built up, Craig - looks very stealthy and clean lines. And a very nice MTB, ledoman, wish I had full suspension on mine.

Here's my main road bike:

Merlin Cyrene with Dura-Ace 7800. I've since upgraded the wheels to Felt TR3 Aeros, but otherwise it's been the same for 35,000 miles. Here's a closeup of the frame and saddle, which is no longer British racing green:

I'll try to get some pics of my Cross bike tonight with lights on it. I do the occasional night ride on the Merlin, but majority of rides at night are on trails.

I sold this in 2007, its the only picture i have and I haven’t had a bike since.

Excuse the layer of dust, it never got used :stuck_out_tongue:

Is that phone still active? >)

It’s an australian mobile phone number, so if you call it scaru you’ll incur a substantial cost…
oh wait but you can always call cheaply through skype.

1997 Bianchi Lynx

Thanks for the advice, I'll call it later today.

Keep the heavy breathing to yourself :stuck_out_tongue:

Here is my 3 speed 1964 Raleigh Sports…these are such wonderful old bikes, very relaxing to ride. I’m 50 now so I have nothing to prove :stuck_out_tongue: We have an organized annual ride using these old bikes www.3speedtour.com - more fun than I’ve ever had on a bike!

!!

My Electra Townie 7D the only bike I can ride since hurting my back. I tried almost every bike at the bike shop before I bought it.

My old downhill bike Specialized Demo 9 before I got hurt this was the most fun bike I ever had. It was for lift assist only about 60lbs you can’t pedal it, you take the ski lift up to the top of the mountain and bomb down repeat.

I don’t know how to tell you this, you won’t get far on that bike, the shop forgot to put the pedals on mate

I've hurt my back once too many times and it's very painful for me to bend over a set of handle bars so I went the recumbent route. It's like sitting in a recliner on wheels.

+1 on the Electras being the most comfortable bikes I've found.

Nnnice!

Couple of years ago I started to dream about DH bike, but since we have no hills or mountains over here, only small drops and nothing to get excited about I quickly forgot about it.
One thing I noticed tho that DH bikes are super cheap in USA while costing an arm and a leg here in Europe/Latvia.

My Scott Aspect 45, bought it in spring 2008, really dirty and I managed to f*ck up its fron deraileur(sp?) yesterday during cleaning process after hitting massive dog sh*t with both of my wheels, bringing it for repairs tonight since I dont have tools and spares in the city.
And its dirty too, for all these years it has seen only 1.5x proper cleaning and not sure if more than 2-3 times of oiling

Yeah, Ive been harsh on it and almost destroyed it yesterday night when I had to rush to work lol.
Not my picture, my have pedals in place and dont have those stock front/back red/white reflectors(?):

Here's a photo of my 1989 Schwinn Voyageur touring bike (owned since January 1990 @ 14yrs old). The saddle has been changed to a Gyes GS-06 leather saddle (Brooks imitation) thanks to the help and recommendations from BetweenRides & Cone. Other than that it's the same. Notice the knobby Cyclocross tire (Tioga Bloodhound) put on for rough trail use (C&O canal). I put a lot of miles on this bike from about 14 to 16, then occasional rides from 16 to 20, then I didn't touch it until about August 2010 when I started getting back into cycling. I'm more of a touring rider enjoying loading the bike up and camping along the trails.

By the way, a friend and I are contemplating riding the entire C&O canal towpath (184.5 miles) in one day next year. It's been done by others and just sounds like a fantastic goal!

And loaded up for a 5 day trip (note the new saddle):

I no longer have this bike (below), but, most of the parts are now on its replacement, a Look 595. I don’t have any pictures of that one.

I have two more road bikes that I don’t have pictures of.
