Pocket rocket

HID45: thats a nice modification. Made me think about doing the same. Only I do not have the 16340 cells so I want to keep it at 14500. It would be nice if the light could take AA and 14500 and has 2/3 modes low, (mid) and high. But if it only takes 14500 it's oke to.

The last driver I found goes up to 3,5A while the cree only takes till 3A so that is not an good idea.

3A driver with only 1 mode in that body? Something will melt :D

Does somebody have a good suggestion which driver to taken and where to buy?

Thanks for the explanation Bob. Maybe slightly to technical for me. But I think I got what your mend to say.

So the driver I did choose from KD with max. 3,5 A is good.

How about the Cree. It says "Forward voltage: 2,9v - 3,5V" Could that be a problem because the battery gives 4,2V?
