If you don't have this knife its a must have for all knife addicts. I love this knife!! For $ 7-10 its a very nice sebenza 21 knockoff. I think paying $300 for a knife is crazy.
I got the SRM 710 because the people on this forum said it was a good knife. It was my first look in to SRM knives. I like it a lot. I prefer a slightly heavier knife compared to a featherweight knife and this knife feels nice a hefty. I would like to see what the knife looks like in different colors as well.
didnt take long for this thread title to get picked up. Check out ebay and search for poor man's sebanza. They are now labeling anything made by SRM that.

How funny, i wonder were they came up with that idea
If you're looking for a heavier knife , i would recommend the infamous spyderco tenacious , same factory were they make srm knives. I love the steel they use . It costs around $30 but very worth it IMO.
i have been looking for a good SRM , this one just made the short list. it has a sleek profile , i think if you remove the clip you would have a good pocket carry without being over bothersome. besides it looks good too.
to the tenacious, seriously i was shocked even after the great reviews. its a " cut above " for budget knives - i am now a huge spyderco fan , i think their red line or whatever they call it is , made in china or by SRM are well done. the steel?? is it the same kind , or hardend more ?? IDK but that tenacious made me a believer in this "budget steel" thats why i got the ganzo and a navy ( both yet to be tested fully and sharpen )
and until i got my ganzo 704, Tenacious was my main EDC. IMO $20 for the ganzo delivered, is very nice and perfectly acceptable but SRM quality is so highly regarded - gotta try one soon.
...so far the knives have escaped the "look" the flashlights and their components get - best to hold off for a bit : )
Spyderco knives have harder steel - the 8Cr13MoV for the Byrd and Tenacious family of knives is ~59-60 whereas SanRenMu hardens their own knives to 57-59. Enough to be noticeable but I don't think it's enough to get hung up over.
