The problem with that light is protected 18650s do not fit in it, at least they did not fit in the one I got from DX.
It is a really nice light except for the battery issue, with a 2.8 amp driver and an XM-L it has a nice hot spot and it handles the heat on high just fine.
If you can trust the reviews (which I don't) it's 3-mode (H-M-S). But I would use it as a host only (prefer non-P60 for XM-L) so I don't care about the original driver.
It's one thing to advertise max lumens from the emitter rather than the actual output of the flashlight, but unless they're talking about two Q5 emitters, this seems completely imaginary.
Wow. I could have had a C8! I would have bought one if I had know that, but I held off because I wasn't sure the G4 would be enough of a difference vs. a P60 light.
Yeah, this one was a gamble. like I had said earlier if you look at the pic in the decription one of them clearly shows a C8. A friend of mine in Queens ordered this same sku a month or two ago and got the G4 body, but ordered on this daily deal and got the C8 as I did.
What they may be doing out of the Brooklyn warehouse is substituting the C8 for the G4.
I spoke to him tonight just to ask which one he received to see if mine was just a one off.
I am happy, Hope anyones shipped from Brooklyn is a C8. post your loot :)
One thing that's worth pointing out perhaps, is that Tmart has a presence in the US (in NJ, if I recall correctly) and there's a chance that at least customers based in the lower 48 states will receive a different item than the rest of the world. Back in January, Tmart had a 502b Q5 on sale for five bucks and some change (no doubt a mistake on their part) and while the US warehouse send out a free charger and an unprotected 18650 (neither of which were even mentioned on their webpage) along with the flashlight in a nice box, the rest of the world got just the flashlight and the battery in some bubble wrap.
