This one has a specific use. They want a light to check out their property at night. So I will recommend high capacity lights that are larger and if they want something that fits in their pocket then I’ll bring up the concept of different sized lights and why you would want more than one.
We were going to meet last week about this but it fell though. Hopefully we can pick it up this week.
I just saw your question now. My bad.
XHP70.3 HI is better for long range, mainly because of having less glare at short distance. And also less tint shift. But 70.2 5000K is indeed easier on the eyes. Both are great anyway.
Man I hope someone else answers that because I’ve been wondering that myself. It’s a pretty pimp photon blaster. I love the toggle switch to focus it down to a needle beam or a super wide circle. I programmed it so that flicking the switch right keeps it on full blast permanently and a flick to the left is strobe.
Thanks homeslice! I did indeed go with the a white 70.3 and it’s wicked cool. I haven’t done a side by side compare with my MS18 but it throws out a huge amount of light and maintains it for a long, long time. The 100 watt usb-c PD charging is a killer feature
If you have both you can guesstimate, use ceiling bounce method for maxabeam, and then compare to what setting on ms18 will illuminate the room as bright as maxabeam. i suspect maxabeam will not have many lumens. prbly 10k or so. i do not think you can convert lm to cp, it is like speed and hp, they are very loosely related, other things like weight, gears matter more, you can have 200hp small car be a lot faster than 1000hp tractor.
