ok I found one
I think you forgot to add the link
I didn’t think anyone else would be interested

I’m interested. Thanks!
This one isnt good for xml, too thin wires and isnt compatible with convoy
My recommendation, after using many many pressure switches on hunting rifles and other rifles, and seeing the damage they casue, don’t do it. Especially with a high powered light. The best pressure switches are all rated for under 1 amp max momentary amp draw. Most good high powered lights draw at least 3 amps, mod ones 5+. That type of amp draw will turn your pressure switch/wires/cap to a molten pile of melted $hit sooner then latter. And maybe some burnt fingers…
Burnt melted wires, causing lights that won’t work when needed, melted switches and switch housings, snagged wires on brush/trees, hands, fingers, etc, goes on and on. Adding a pressure switch is the exact opposite of a tail cap spring bypass. With a pressure switch’s massive extra electrical resistance, many lights are at maybe half or less the otf lumen compared to a good bypassed tailcap spring. Exact opposite of what most of us are looking for.
With a little forethought, a well mounted light, placed correctly on your weapon, is all that is needed.
Even if you don’t have a forward hand grip next to your switch, its still ok. Your hand still can’t ever be that far away from the switch. Keep it simple.
Pressure switches are all hype and unnecessary waste of time and money, imo
Much better off spending your money on a high powered light with a warm to neutral white tint to illuminate the nite or early morning thru heavy humidity/dew. A c8 with xpl-hi v3 3b is my favorite weapon light for long range work. With a 1 mode fet or dd driver, good battery, springs bypassed, and good tail switch, can’t be beat for great nite vision and reliability, imo.
Here are some pics of my Klarus on my m4, if you want some pics of my hog hunting rifles with c8, pm me and I’ll take a few pics. Notice how easy/close it is to activate the tail switch on my Klarus. With the quick connect mount I can change lights in a matter of seconds to suit whatever light fits the conditions…

I’ve been using an olight M3X on a 223R and a 7mm rem mag for out to 400 yards
but it is too white and the C8 I have is the 7135 x 8 4C and the more halogen colour
is way better for around here . being next to the ocean we get a lot of haze at night so
this light will be a good one on the 22 and the 223 out too 200 yards .
And because it will be used on foot rarely and off the window sill culling 90% of the
time the scope mount and pressure switch on the forend will be fine as it only takes
between 3 and 5 seconds for a shot .

Convoy will have a remote pressure switch for sale pretty soon in the Convoy Alexpress store. No exact release date yet but It’s in production now. The prototype looks pretty sweet. :sunglasses: It will be a more universal design usable on many lights. I agree with what allcool was saying. The Convoy pressure switch will be good for up to 3A for the first release so for a stock C8 it will be great but many of our modded lights are 5+ Amps. I’m working on Simon to follow with a higher current model that will handle more of our modded lights.
Cheers.
I'll sub to this topic.
I like that Simon is going to look into a high amp pressure switch that will be universal for many lights. How many? Convoy only?
I would think it would be difficult ti make one "universal" considering the threads on all the different lights. Well desired brands, I mean.
Looking at the housing of the pressure switch, it's rather large. I would like to see something lower profile, that's a more pleasing to the eye, if it can be made more streamline.
I researched micro switches that were waterproof and quality, waterproof-switches Tapeswitch corp
I agree, the warm tints are better, I see much better detail and movement thru my scope with warm tints. And the warmer yellowish light seems to penetrate the 'thick Florida nite air much better for me. You do lose some throw though.
"off the window sill culling" ..?
Are you shooting out of a vehicle..? Curious what you're culling..?
Here in Florida nite hunting is highly illegal for most all hunting. Hog hunting is 1 of the exceptions to the rule. Hog hunting does not even require a hunting license here.
But shooting out of a window at anything, is an arrestable offense around here, iirr. With a huge fine and maybe impounded vehicle and guns. You guys down under got it easy, shooting out of a window...lol.
Your Olight M3X is a great thrower. Maybe change it to a good warm tint emitter.? And then turn up the amps. Don't think any c8 would come close to its throw or beam...

allcool we cull thousand’s of kangaroos every year around here and some nights some blokes shoot 150+ a night
it makes for a very long night and yes it is all out the window as there isn’t any other way as they are too quick
for a chopper and it wouldn’t be cost effective anyway .
and we would have it a lot easier if we could have an M4 and a 45auto for self defence but alas we are not even
allowed to defend our selves without getting charged , I couldn’t believe what I was hearing on the news one night
when the top cop for the state said that even if you are getting car jacked if you fight back you will be charged
this place has lost the plot .
and yes on the other points as in the tint not throwing as far and the M3X being a good thrower .
cheers D
Ahh, I see, sounds like you’re over run with Kangaroo, just like we are with hogs…
What does one do with 150 Kangaroo carcasses…?
I got a ccw, so I feel your pain. Rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6…
Some liberal states here, have to run out your back door if a intruder breaks in, can’t stand your ground in some states. Not my state.
Our right to carry and stand your ground gun laws here in many states have made it a much more polite respectful society for the most part. Lots of bad guys getting what they deserve at the hands of a ccw, however that rarely make the headlines of the liberal anti gun msm.
Car jacking in Miami has gone to an all time low since the stand your ground laws went into effect a few years back. Now if someone trys to car jack you and you shoot them dead in self defense, you don’t get arrested, just detained on the spot for some questions and then let go. Before the new laws, any/all ccw self defense shooting and you were arrested immediately and brought downtown to jail/questioning and probably kept for an arraignment by a judge.
Biggest gun show in S FL this weekend, picked up a nice slightly used 270. Should be a good long range hog rifle for the big 400lb boars that are hard to get close too. Not sure what light to use on it. That Olight M3X you got might be the ticket, mod it with a nice XP-L2 HD V6 3B tint and fet driver.
How does your M3X take recoil on your 7mm…?
not much recoil in a 7mm rem mag especially when the rifle and scope come in at around 13lb
so far it’s good with around 75 rounds , not much use as the 7mm only comes out for deer culls
on crops . just bib the horn and when they stick their head up whack’em in the head or neck .
don’t much like shooting SAMBAR deer under a light but I have to do it as all the property’s
I shoot on I am the only one that shoots there so I have to do it .
Hey all. Simon has the remote pressure switch listed for sale in the Convoy store. It’s a universal style that will work with any light that has a 16mm switch boot. You just need to have $7.44 and the ability to solder two wires. Free epacket shipping. I’ll probably do an actual thread for it later but since it’s being talked about here I figured I’d let you know.
I don’t get this . so I still have to get a tail cap as well and the switch is way to big and blocky
No you use your tail cap, disassemble it and solder in the new wires/parts. Looks pretty basic/simple
JMO, but, not sold on maxing out a switch at its 3 amp max with most any high power stock light that draws 3 amps.
In my experience, a switch or relay should be sized well above its max projected power draw, for reliability and longevity.

Problem is, most/many of those little thin compact pressure switches have flexible thin aluminum foil or copper foil contacts separated by thin foam with a hole in it, that compresses when activated(pushed) to allow foil contact(switch activation). That thin foil is not capable of big continuous amp flow.
The new convoy switch looks to have actual micro switches, much better, hence its bulkier construction is needed.
Its a compromise. Add to that, 24” of coiled #20 wire for a nice voltage drop and the more bulky maybe in the way switch/wires, and you can see why I gave you the recommendation in my above previous post…

I still don’t see the problem with 3A at 5 seconds or less and I never had a problem with my olight ones
and with this I would be out with the soldering iron about 4 times a week as I use the light for more than
just to sit it on a scope .

Thanks!
I would like to talk to Simon. Does he speak/understand English?
How can I contact him? Email is my preferred means of communication.
I have something I would like to share with him. Directly.
If you can flash firmware what about using a remote electronic switch. Setup 2 modes, one max, the other below the moonlight trigger (toykeeper mentions levels that don’t even illuminate the LED in C8 thread).
Tailcap stays standard, turn it on when you go out shooting, turn it off when you return, jobs a goodun. Sure you get drain when electronically off but not a problem for a few hours shooting.
Allcool, it’s always been the case that nearly all the budget lights overdrive the tail switch, getting ones to do FET drivers with headroom is a real issue, let alone remote switches! Torches like the Olight M3X get off lighter because the 2 series voltage reduces the current. McClickies became popular for a while on modded lights iirc.
Can’t believe some US places can’t shoot out of a window, damn, we do that in one of the tightest controlled countries ever, the U.K.
