Problems with solarforce honoring warranty

On 6/20/2014 I ordered a L2P host ,stainless steel attack bezel and their high dollar pressure switch and I recieved on the first week of July, well the pressure switch right out of the box was at best internment, so I emailed Jo from solarforce immediately and emailed three more times since then and I have not heard at from at this point, so just wanted to let you all know and ask if anyone had any ideas on the beat course of action.

Did you use Paypal?

Should still be under protection if the CS is unresponsive.

I sure did use PayPal .but what can they do solarforce all ready received the payment?

Paypal will have have their way to get your money back. Paypal always encourage buyer to settle dispute with seller by themselves. My seller promised to resend my items after a month but they never arrive. I forwarded this >45days old case to PP and they did full refund(one time offer) out from their own pocket. As long as you have proof of negotiation, you should be safe.

nvm answered already.

Yea Jo wants me send back the p60 dropin that went out on me. Sorry but the drop costs less to buy a new one than to ship it back to china to get replaced. Mistake, never buy a dropin from solarforce.

IAM glad to y hat I am not the only one and thank all of you I will be contacting paypal.this weekend I really wish I wouldn’t have to come to this and Iam very disappointed I jo, as I have bought dozens of L2 hosts from him and I was hoping this wouldn’t have turned out this way.

Did you check for tightness/look for any metal scrap/clean it out/use conductive lubricant on contact points?

I’ve fixed a lot of intermittents just by adding a bit of labor/QC value that no manufacturer offers.

Yes sir 1st thing I checked was tail switch and reassembled with Nygel and still the same thing

Not excusing their customer service. It’s just part of the cost of doing business with China, has been a fact of life for years. Even if your pressure switch arrived 1st rate its often the first part that dies. Most overseas pressure pad switches are just thin metal strips literally shorting together. None I’ve ever played with could handle the amperage used today. Good news is that the tail threads are almost universal, try looking at Surefire.

I’m puzzled by your shipping cost — I’ve bought a few dozen things from solarforce.
I once had to return one (of two) P60 ultraviolet dropins because it didn’t work.
They asked for a photo; I took the reflector off, and then the problem was obvious — the emitter had come off the base and one wire wasn’t connected.

They shipped the replacement after I emailed a photograph, before the return reached them.
It did take a few weeks to sort out, but that was no surprise.
I don’t even remember the cost to mail it back, it fit in a little padded envelope, I took it to the local post office,
they figured the postage cost and it was, I dunno, two or three dollars. Trivial.

I could have paid a lot more if I’d picked an option from those on the USPS page.
Might be worth checking at your local post office, just pack it and take it there all ready to go and ask.

Up there just over 3.00 amps.any one have any sources for aurefirw? Hank I never complained about the postage is shipping I have never even got a answer back from Jo at Solar for

I replied to downlinx who wrote:

My apologies Hank .

Until now i had no problems with Jo ’s aftersales, got once a damaged switch, and after mailing pictures, he send me new one with my next order. Missing item from an other order is on its way now.
I think they are quite busy, somtimes it takes a day or two before he answers.

But i certainly wouldn t ship back to any chine seller, costs 22 euro ($30) (signed for), but that is what paypal wants if you want to file paypal disputes. They want you to have proof of shipment with a tracking no.

Just a letter costs around 3 euro, ($4.15) but if a seller says “did not arrive” you lose the item and the money.

In case of a drop-in, for that 3 euro i can order a new led at fasttech and replace it myself. And probably faster than waiting for a replacement after shopping yours back

Agree with this.
SF drop-ins are under driven and unreliable in my experience.
Their hosts are great.

It has been over two weeks and he/she has not responded to any of my email’s, and I really like solarforce’s hosts I think I have bought a dozen over the period of6 month

EDIT: I want to update the progress made with Jo at solarforce , as I previously mentioned I had sent Jo numerous emails with no response, so I filed a dispute with PayPal, and the next day I got a response from Jo. His explanation was he never received any of my email’s but promised to send the pressure switch pad.Well on 7/29/2014 I received the replacement switch and I closed the dispute, I hated filing the dispute but it got their attention and I want to be fair to let folks know Solar force stood behind their product.
