Apparently Surefire is getting ready to release their new "Dominator" light and preorders are available. A Surefire fanboy has posted his eagerness to shell out $960 for the privilege of owning one and is wondering how many others are chomping to throw down a cool grand on something that has already been done for far, far less money.
Have to admit I really like this "Divine_Madcat" fellow.
lol that should get interesting
edit: that thing is ugly. but if it was about $900 cheaper, where it should be, i may consider it. i like ugly unique lights, like the gatling light
I’d say I’ll keep checking back……it’ll likely be locked in an hour, I agree, I like divine madcat, so, who is it then? Go on, own up…. and if its not lumatic, someone shoot him a pm before he’s banned…
Just seen your follow up posts, so $960, then o have to get it shipped, then 20% tax on the $960 and shipping then £8 handling fee for the *’s to open my package and not deliver it. For what is basically a crap looking sl3?
lol, i think his post was also mocking, but yours is just one step above H)
edit: i think you should take the high road and sell it off for $500, with the new xml2 installed. thats a freaking bargain overthere
[QUOTE=scaru;4110244]Ok, I have a light to sell you. It is a triple XM-L light and puts out over 2000 lumens. It is approximately the size of a soda can and is gold colored. It runs off 4 18650s in parallel, so it is very safe. It will run for over an hour on high without running out of batteries, but could also be run on just 1 battery. It has an electronic side switch with 3 modes: Low, High, and Strobe (which is hidden). I can sell it to you for 3000 dollars, but for you I'll let it go for 2000. PM me to discuss.
It does have a selector ring, believe it or not, but you wouldn’t notice it right away thanks to it’s horrible ergonomics. The only way they could have made it worse would be to have the selector ring up at the bezel by the lens. As it is you can’t hold it and operate it with one hand. It still takes two hands to change modes since the ring is up front by the fins instead of at the base of the head where the hand holding it would be. Stupid, stupid, stupid…
The Surefire Radiator, at least it looks like it and I’m sure it will heat your hands up in the winter just like a radiator!
I would see it’s main purpose as a short combat bat, blind your opponent and then smack it over head with the damn thing.
BTU Shocker $150, lol that almost made my day!
For $960? Why not just have it made to order at some local machine shop for that price? Or would it actually be cheaper when made to order and assembled at home?
Is it at least titanium to justify the price? XD
Ridiculous.
Would be funny, one guy lights up the Dominator, the other one 6 Shockers lol
Who’s got more bang/throw/lumens for the buck now hehe.
“Damn, one broke, what ever, 5 left.”
I could never understand why Surefires are so expensive and known. Their lights suck when it comes to performance and are overpriced. Maybe if somebody wants a certified/tested low power expensive light for military/law enforcement, ok, then these are who they sell to. Normal people, I guess they just get a 2x lumen output for 1/10th price.
