It came from an adress out of Germany, so there is no value at the delivery needed. This ist the first time I got something from BG from a national adress. I can only guess they got some into a warehouse and labeled them for german national shipment. I hope you guys can get yours soon.

Nope, it definitely came straight from China despite the German address on it, in case it´s not deliverable they have a local “warehouse” or shipping address in Germany so the failed packages won´t go back to china or vanish to nirvana…

For the screws, I dunno if they semi stripped or not. They have to bite thru the PCB, so the threads might be filled with dust in that pic, or slightly stripped - could be. Can’t check again right now. Either way, those screws do still work very well - tightened them up good. I agree these are Chinese quality - something ain’t good. Already partially stripped the head of one, and has some trouble with one reflector screw. I got a bunch of spare screws around though - haven’t checked yet for replacements. In the past, the hardware I buy myself from places like BoltDepot.com always seems to be better quality.

For the switch LED’s, sorry no pics, but I don’t have failures, but do see inconsistencies. On 1 unit, the LED’s seem very bright, but I measured 123 uA draw in “sleep” mode, which I think is dead-on with the prototypes. On another unit, I found one of the green LED’s brighter than the other, yet everything on the board, wiring/soldering, looked good. I’m thinking it’s the SMD LED’s themselves, but we won’t really know til more trouble-shooting is done.

Looking at amplificus pic, seems like threads are just cutting/scraping thru anodising - note dust in thread hole and black in thread valleys on screws.

Solder top = DIY button top

So , judging by the pic you quoted , search for button top cells .

Recommended batteries aren’t protected as you mentioned . Recommended batteries are unprotected button top batteries .

Been said many many times: 30Q Button tops are all around very good for price, performance, runtime -- no modding required, and Banggood has had great deals on them. For max safely, sure - protected button tops, but again, I would only recommend high quality protected cells, not no-name protection circuitry.

From what someone on this thread mentioned - why not Samsung 35E's? So I checked into them further and bought qty 8. So far they are testing pretty good in the Q8, better then what I expected -- but the ones I bought were flat tops, so I added solder blobs on the tops of them.

Maybe going to this thread and post to get pointed to text feels faster then read the provided manual and type in the shortened link? IDK, typing in a few things in the address bar browser or click on the link in the Banggood listing seems to be much faster then asking a lot of people to read something and even a few type up an answer , for typing the question is so much more typing but well I must be making a thinking error here

I found a pic from Tom E showing the prototype 2 switch.

It looks like a 4700 ohm resistor. Is this what is used on the production versions?

I seem to recall it was too bright and it was supposed to be changed to 10,000 ohm. Is this correct?

I think you are over thinking recommendations - bout any 18650 will work with a protruding top. What do you want? Max output? Max runtime? Max safety? Take your pick.

Not completely sure but solder points on switch PCB dont’t look good. Could cause the indicator LED problems.

I have some bad news. I cancelled my order. I’m not feeling comfortable with potential problems with either the switch LEDs, or possibe driver problems. I’ll wait and reorder if it’s proven that it’s just a few out of the of 1500 of so that do not exhibit issues. I’ve been screwed before with newly released products. That said, I live on a fixed income (Social Security), so I try to very careful how I spend my money. I hope you all understand.
