Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Ah I had not checked the shipping before, on BG page it only gives 2017-09-19 00:00
null Départ bureau d’échange pays d’expédition SINGAPOUR (SG).

On 17track I now see
Destination Country - Tracking Consuming: 489 ms
2017-09-25 00:00 En cours de traitement LA ROCHEFOUCAULD PDC1 (16).
2017-09-22 00:00 Arrivée en France ROISSY HUB BSCC PIC (93).
2017-09-19 00:00 Départ bureau d’échange pays d’expédition SINGAPOUR (SG).
Origin Country - Tracking Consuming: 681 ms
2017-09-22 17:47 Arrival at Destination Post (Country: FR)
2017-09-22 15:48 Arrival at Processing Center (Country code: FR)
2017-09-19 02:52 Despatched to overseas (Country code: FR)

So I could have known it would arrive these day, glad I did not by the way, cannot make it go faster anyway and this was a nice surprise

Maybe you just think its painful for others to see that.

I deal with stripped screws all the time and it causes me no pain. It’s no big deal, really. Only if the head is broke off do I feel upset. This requires surgery. Cutting the tip off flush, center punching, drilling, extracting, chasing the threads, cleaning everything, then finally putting a new screw in. Whew!

Maybe folks would like some tips for removing a stubborn screw?

Since they used a tapered head screw on the driver, you can probably use vice grips (maybe needle nose version) to clamp on it and twist it loose.

Another tip would be to use a dremel with a very thin cutting disc to cut a slot in the head, then use a good flat blade screwdriver to loosen it.

If it’s not stripped too badly, then maybe what Miller suggested would work. Put a rubber band between the screw and the driver so it grabs better. I haven’t tried it, but I guess it works.

Then you can put in brand new metric screws for $1 or $2 at your local hardware store. Then it will look perfect.

I’ve only ever seen on TV an assembly line tool for installing screws. They are special electric drive units with torque feedback and such. Way too expensive for a regular person to buy. Probably thousands of dollars. But, yes, with that proper tool it does look easy.

So you get your Q8 today, Miller?

cool! got any pics of the light functioning as a lantern?

@others, Teacher is in no way connected to the team or this groupbuy, you can post in the thread and PM me at this stage when having questions or issues, directing questions at him is as useful as directing a question to a stone about the Q8
Attention seems the main thing Teacher is after, please don’t feed this Mr T.

Why would anyone from the first 500 claim a PP dispute?
Just because the screw which hold the PCB is damaged? Or the unbalanced switch indicator LEDs?
Come on, get real guys!

As someone previously wrote, It’s not a kidney, it’s a $40 light! To those elevating the problems way out of proportion to the reality, lighten up and get a grip!

I think folks who have no experience with budget lights signed on thinking that they were getting a $200 light for $40. That’s the problem with advertising something like this everywhere on the ’net. I understand why it was done, but not everyone knows what’s going on and only sees what they see, mostly dollars saved to get a “gold plated” light (at least in their minds eye). How many Atomic Lights are sold? Of course the Q8 is much better, but I think many folks have an unreasonable expectation of perfection in a budget light. It’s a victim of it’s own success. It also doesn’t help to have the Chicken Littles harping on the problems either and blowing them way out of proportion. Some folks just have a raincloud hanging over their posts continually and it’s catching, and I single no one person out with that so no one should feel I mean them. Folks trying to wade through the morass of posts as I just did have picked up on it no doubt. Frankly, I got tired of it and just skipped the last 200 to get me here.

The Miller, I marvel at your restraint. I absolutely couldn’t do what you’re doing.

I 2nd that!

TM and ofcourse the rest of the team, you did a marvellous job!

And i really love the Q8, maybe just order my 2nd before the deadline of 27th.

Ignore button please.

To put it short, the Q8 is an awesome light, and i’m going to order some more :+1:

It’s an awesome platform to build some mods on too.

Nice!

It is very nice to see my proto and first ordered Q8 have exactly the same tint, beampatern and brightness!

Congratulations on receiving your first ‘real’ Q8!

Yeah your emoticon says it all:

It did need lube, I was lazy and just tightened tube and tailcap in and on the proto parts, got enough lube from that and saved me the time to search the Superlube

Okay… I have one question. Will be Q8 shipped via bPost? I am asking because I have some unpleasant experiences with bPost (and MF-01 that is missing somewhere). And tt isn’t the first time…

Ignore button.

Mine got here with bPost, did not have any problem with them at all. But they are a Belgium post company, i think they just receive them from China, and give them to you local postal service. It was PostNL that the delivery to my door

Mine was shipped with Bpost as well, no problem at all!
Edit, yes PostNL did the final delivery at my door

Please all do not feed.
Teacher, since I have updated the PM based on how you act I had to do a copy paste anyway, so here is the entire PM string.
So there is need to post here anymore, other then to prove even more it is trolling.

Teacher,

Now that you posted publicly and for me proved you are indeed a troll I must update the previous PM for I wrote it based on the then current information so before your very nasty sneaky way of trying to say we would have asked for “evidence against Thorfire” which has not been the case or intent.

Yes, the moment it became clear you claimed to have a DOA immediately you were asked not to open and do a swap.
You said it was opened already but not fixed, so you were specifically asked for either clear pictures or in case you would not be able to provide them do the swap at my cost.

You responsed two days later that you fixed it without being able to make clear pictures because of another DOA you have, your camera.

A lot of DOAs you claim to have.

I don’t see how we could have been more accommodating in getting you a proper functional light.
I don’t see how we could have been more clear and specific what was needed in the situation and how important a thorough documentation or investigation of a DOA was.
We have agreed on a working method with Thorfire to avoid this sort of thing.

This is what Djozz was referring to as looking like mainly wanting to cause a stir. You drop what can only be described as a Q8 h-bomb in the thread, then post short and vague about it.

The simple things you were asked for to not do or do, you ignored and you did the opposite, while making sure no further research to your claim can be done.

Please refrain from further trolling in the threads I have started and/or saying things without evidence of being able to prove what you say is true. And please I would like you to just stop posting in them altogether.

I consider this the last thing that needs to be said on the matter, consider it closed now and with the current information I see no reason for more then copy paste this PM to explain it if needed.

Sorry it has turned out this way,

The Miller

PS, as before, please ignore and do not feed

Judging by 17track mine came with Singapore post.
I don’t think there is a lot we can do in choice of shippers other then selecting one making the order.
I see Priority Direct (free) and Air Parcel Register (free) as options,no name of actual shipper
