I need someplace to keep my “spare” 30Qs so another Q8 would be a perfectly sensible option, Right? I mean, just cause I haven’t received my first one yet is that any reason.
Those who think they don’t get as much output as expected can also make sure the battery tube is tightly threaded into the head so that it makes better contact with the driver ground ring.
Making sure the tube end is clean and having it tight is something to check on any light that relies this current path - not just the Q8.
> make sure the battery tube is tightly threaded into the head
But first make sure the bare metal end of the battery tube is clean and flat.
If you have a little ding or flange of metal sticking up, that’s the only surface area that will make contact with the ground ring, and it will gouge the ground ring as it’s tightened.
I had a ding with a raised sharp edge that did that. Cleaned it off by rubbing a piece of hardwood until it smoothed out, didn’t have any fine grain sandpaper handy.
hey all. i got my Q8 today. thank you, its look and feal good, but i got issue with the driver position. can see it in the picture.
i hope somthing can be done to fix it.
You can unscrew the driver and use a 3mm drill to open up the holes for the screws to be the same size as the screws so they don’t thread into the driver, but only in the flashlight body, that will make it sit more level.
The battery marks are normal, every light is tested before it goes out of the factory.
