hrrmmmm have had the tracking number for about a week now and when going to 17track is giving no tracking information available….

Please PM me if you want to help out and do me a huge favor.
I need a pristine swap Q8 and somebody who is able to fix a faulty one and can keep the name of the owner of the swapped Q8 confidential.
This means you send your pristine Q8 that works good to a US California address after you have received a faulty one. The faulty one has the not working switch assembly issue but the rest works fine, so you can use it awaiting solution.
I will pay shipping both ways, but need a pic of the receipt of payment for who knows.
Now it is key this one BLFer who choose not to wait and start a PayPal dispute gets a pristine one so we can work on solutions without the mess of arguing over (partial) refunds and shipping costs.
Anonymity is key, I will not give the impatient BLFer’s username or the BLF username of the one swapping. Just the initials and addresses so the swap can take place.
I see now that is might look like nothing is happening, but from 23 September onwards solutions are proposed and Thorfire engineering is looking into things, so I really hope there is some trust.
I stand for my word and if a solution or maybe choice of solutions is not to the liking of the BLFer willing to swap his/hers pristine Q8 for this faulty one, I will buy a new Q8 for you without debate so you are sure to end up with a pristine Q8 no matter what.

I do not want to ask Tom on this one, he is so swamped and busy with issues, he already has a faulty and dinged up Q8 after a swap so this one must come from within the community, sorry to say this.

I apologise for not being clear enough that I am working on progress and solutions.

As said by a few persistent others it is everybody’s right to deal with issues how they choose.
And in this case I choose for ironing out this pressing matter so the dispute can be closed before Barry, Marunce and Swi return from holiday to avoid damage to the relationship and give myself some room to work towards solutions without the worst that can happen in case of a relatively minor issue, namely PayPal arguments and hurt feelings while this can be avoided.

Apologies for not being clear
Let me explain the tricky situation.
We had issues on production on a few Q8 flashlights.
I did propose solutions but because of the overall stress, designing and specifying a new part (switch assembly) and change in production methods I opted to have Thorfire focus on that first and only relay some input to engineering and not press it too hard awaiting more Q8 lights to arrive.
First make sure the remaining 2000 could be made ASAP then go for a solution for the then 10 to now 22 Q8 lights with issues.
No use in drying the floor when the water is still leaking.
First going for 1300 BLFers, getting a clearer picture of the total number of problem Q8 s and their issues.

There was very little time, a major Chinese holiday, effectively bringing China to a halt was coming.
I am so sorry I could not convey this incredible stressful and time sensitive situation to all the smart and critical people here who wanted answers and solutions right away.

It seemed so incredible logical to me to want to wait for a complete list of people needing a solution and what they need a solution for.
And Q8 lights from the first 50 are still being delivered now.
I clearly have not been able to make this clear, apologies for that.
I probably chose the wrong approach but still do not see what I could have done different, sorry, I wish I can.

Miller, I think you have developed a SUPERB solution for handling Q8 owners that have any type of problem with their units. Tip of the hat to ya. :face_with_monocle:

I sincerely hope that everyone that reads the above post , comprehends what you have implemented and heeds the advice. :+1:

Just as a reminder to everyone on shipping from Banggood to the US.

I have another BG order, not a Q8, but shipped the same way via FedEx SmartPost.

• The "Shipping Info" link on your order list is totally bogus - mine says delivered to Mesa, AZ in March (??)
• Click on "Order Details" instead
• should find a 20 digit "Track Number" -- this is a FedEx.com number!
• enter it on fedex.com, might not find much listed there, so grab that "Reference" # - should start with YT
• plug the YTnnnn.. number into 17track.net -- should see more detail there
• now after it clears customs, or at some point in LA, CA, the FedEx # will become alive again with more info , but long delay (few days) if it departed LA and is in route cross country
• with mine, once it got to my local post office, a USPS # is assigned and displayed in the FedEx tracking history

Dunno why the BG "Shipping Info" link is busted, but just ignore it.

My tracking number has 30 digits. I’m beginning to wonder if this is the grand total of everything ever shipped from China. I bet they could really speed things up if they stated from scratch at number “1” at the beginning of the year. Less time typing in numbers, ya know?

W o w…… that is 10 digits to many. .
Tracking number is 20 digits in the USA for Q8 Free Shipping.

IF you are in the Lower 48 ….
…and can locate your 20 digit TRACKING Number .

Go HERE and follow the simple steps exactly. All should then be revealed.

This has been 100% flawless on the lights I have received & the one’s in transit now.

Sorry am far away from easy access to my image accounts, on the end of a 3G tethered mobile, data charges, with a flaky signal and portable device, far from home.

Look at the very top right hand corner, may have to scroll up. Blue box with 注册, 充值, English, 帮助中心

in it. Maybe greyed out, maybe hover over it. Click on English.

IME the (good) tracking will also be in Chinese, as I said, then copy/paste that into Google Translate.

Maybe depends on device used, browser, which way the wind is blowing …

@ Tom Tom, with reception that good are you in one of the big cities in Alaska? LOL sometimes our regular connections via cable are sketchy at best.

So I just went and bought a Emisar D4, might be upset as while the green is cool, if they have purple…

Why not just use YunTrack? It has been pretty reliable for me. Currently shows my lights parked in LA customs. Judging on past shipping times, I expect arrival at my door around Monday. Maybe Saturday if I’m lucky.

Also, if I put the tracking number into FedEx it is for some other package shipped and delivered in March all the way across the country (USA to USA). This leads me to believe the shipping number is not a FedEx number.

FWIW (I think) - Second batch, arriving this coming Saturday from Fedex/USPS. I only checked once. Tracking number on GB worked fine on Fedex.

I am in the Pacific NW - pretty far up on the upper left corner.
