Quick question for you Olight fans?

Hey folks so i got given a new Olight S1R for review it came with every thing in the pack including a 5C rated CR123/16340. Now the question is this cell sucks under load the voltage drops so quick is this standard with Olight cells? My fandyfire IMR cells handles the higher amperage better?

This is my first Olight so i have no clue.

Ive read that the Olight S1R has its full potential with IMR cells, so it needs such a cell to reach the 900 lumens and it will drop down pretty fast, the fast step down is normal. Batteryjunction is talking about 30 secs. and then the step down starts. 900 Lumens is really bright for such a small light.

Yeah Olight li-ion are not high drain by any means, while fandyfires can happily handle up to 8A.

Thanks guys

This light has a programmed step down after 5 seconds from 900 lumens

Well, I don’t think I’ll get one now, 5 seconds of turbo doesn’t excite me much.

I should have the review up soon. I just need a few more days to learn the lights i don’t have any Olight i am not use to there modes. Its so small and bright smaller then my Xtar WK21. For that short time it puts out more light then my S2+ that is running at 3amps but it has a 4500k XPG2 LED so maybe that is why.

Reading the back i thought it was 50 seconds but its defiantly quicker.

No its 30 sec. 0,5 minutes equals 30 sec.
Ok, so it seems they sell the light with a battery capable of 900 lumens.

After i just charged the cell again so it all depends on voltage. right now its running 30 seconds i think any thing under 3.8 volts it steps down sooner. I am confirm when the cell is drained more again.

Now i want to take it apart and see if it is thermal throttling or just not enough power.
