Random black metal rings from a Solarforce L2M?

Ok, so I bought a Solarforce L2M host recently. I was swapping drivers in my drop-in and found the smaller metal ring on the left that seems like it goes in the battery portion as maybe a spacer for 16340’s or CR123’s I think laying on the desk. Then I was vacuuming the floor and found this larger ring in the center of the picture that is flat and I am guessing it goes in the bezel or something laying on the floor. Can anyone confirm this? I don’t know where else they would have come from if they aren’t from the L2M. Thank you for any and all help. This is my first Solarforce host and I have to say I really like it.

Not sure on the left one, but the middle is a gasket ring, for in between the glass lens, and the bezel ring, to prevent scratching.

Thanks for confirming that. I figured that is where it went. I noticed that there seemed to be a little gap between the lens and bezel without that ring in.

Yea the item on the left doesn’t seem to be something from a solarforce host.

I’ve got a lot of Solarforce hosts, L2, T, M, N, and P, the centre goes as stated between bezel and glass. I play Lego with them quite a bit and I’ve never seen anything like the ring on the left.
Does it look like a thread that’s been stripped and shed?
Does it look like a bit parted when machining the tubes.
Have you checked the threads on the head/body/extension/tailcap/switch retaining ring to see if any of that diameter are missing a thread.
Check the diameter against the drop-in, it might be part of an identification tape that’s got separated from around the P-60.
That’s it for my suggestions, Solarforce are one of the best hosts in terms of quality but any mass produced item can slip through quality control.

It is 2mm thick/high and 19mm diameter. I do not believe it is a part of a thread as it is 2mm high. I want to say it is more like a spacer to keep a 16340 or CR123 from rattling maybe. It is too small to fit around a P60 pill or anything.

There’s a ridge machined into the body near the head end on Solarforces that the P60 drop-in negative spring buts up against, that’s all that I can see that is anywhere near 19mm in diameter, I’ve got an L2M set up in “shorty” mode running on a CR123A 3v primary, an L2P running on 6xCR123A’s the rest are using 18650’s. None use any spacers and they’re working fine.

The only other place I could see it fitting, though I don’t know where, is in the tail switch somewhere. Have you ever unscrewed the retaining ring, could it be an internal spacer of some kind?

Yea, I did take the tail cap apart. I’ll have to double check. I guess I shouldn’t worry about it though. Everything is working fine and my main concern was the bigger one that goes between the lens and bezel. Thanks again for all of your guys help.
