I have a Romisen RC-G2 III from Shiningbeam.I was wondering if it is safe to use with a 14500, or would it fry the driver?I don’t see it saying NOT to use a 14500 on the website, but lists input voltage at 1.2/1.5.Thanks-Rick.
If it says the input voltage is 1.2-1.5 then don't try it unless you're willing to replace the driver.
Dunno, but ask Brian anyway
driver will fry, dont try it!
Let's find out!
(goes into his misc. box of flashlights and finds an RC-G2 II)
Now for an IMR 14500 - gotta do it right...
Just a sec...brb....
OUCH! Sonofa....
Ok...I know it's not a III, only a II but I'm pretty sure it's the same driver.
DEFINATLY NO 14500!
I hit 11.5 amps before I dropped the leads....
Looks like I have something to fix now, hope your happy...
Nice! :D
