Thanks Chops, yes that had crossed my mind as a possibility since I’ve seen the 1288 Omten go way over specs as well but it’s good to hear that confirmed as fact.
Thanks for the info
Got something funny today from SF in the email,
I did go do just a little bit more shopping at SF yesterday after I received the two L2T’s,
I was so impressed I decided I should take advantage of the good prices at their current sale and today they sent this email,
Edit: This is meant to be a joke, certainly not bragging about being such a sucker for a decent product, just thought it was funny and first time I ever got an award for spending a ridiculous amount of money, but those S.S. L2T’s are so nice I thought I’d buy 5 more and some other stuff, I think it’s the compulsive maniac award I guess…
Hi Dale, Yes, I would be interested in it. I will even pay you to soup it up. I will put the P60 in the SS version and cherish it/ display it. Of course I will turn it on occasion to run it. Please advise. Thanks, Doug
What is this new White Flat I’m hearing about? Would it fare well in the mirror finish reflectored P60? Might be worth a shot to see. I need someone to point out what the particular bin is of this new emitter and I’ll try to get my hands on some.
The KD triples are pretty reasonable, i decided on an sst20 4000k, it is residing in my L2t at home for now
Shape not ideal for surefire hosts as sits too proud, however fine in solarforce
End up with a gap like
I would hazard a guess at maybe 6-800 ish lumens, its fine for general uses. When compared with the BOSS xpl HI 4k which i had with me, in honesty it wiped the floor with the sst20. Massive difference to the eye, in both brightness and reach. But then it is more than double possibly triple the output.
The 4 mode driver is OK, just too easy to double tap and get strobe . But it has memory which for me is a bonus with 4 levels. For $15 its a good option, pretty good value.
Why they stopped selling L2N and L2T is beyond me. I gave away an L2T to my wife’s nephew and then realized I could not easily get another
My next favorite is the L2M. I like being able to make shorty lights with it. The L2P is nice, but can’t make a shorty, and the battery tube is actually bored a little too big, so there’s some rattle.
This thread has inspired me to go look at some P60 drop-ins. It’s been several years!
All of the above and maybe more limited edition design.
I have been a fun of solarforce for years(1st flashlight was solarforce) and it saddens me that they are not doing very well.
No complain about there product, does the job well.
You could argue because of their interchangeable head/dropin design, SF would have an easier time innovating. But somehow they dropped the ball entirely and their website is in perpetual sale mode.
The P60 design has some physical limits when it comes to heat dissipation and overall concepts (i.e. some drivers won’t fit inside the pill cavity) - but overall 2-3 Amps are more than enough for everyday tasks. In the flashlight world I would also say they have a very good reputation when it comes to craftsmanship, quality and overall brand.
Somebody just said the L2T is no longer available; just checked and you can still buy it on their website? Also saw plenty on ebay around Christmas.
It is true that some models or accessories have been discontinued - one of them is the L2N, but also a few switch designs.
In the long run I would really like to know what will happen to Solarforce though. I assume - in face of growing competition - they have massively reduced their prices to sell product. Whether this is a clearance or not is unclear…
Hey everyone, just got a solarforce l2t stainless steel. It’s incredible! Ordered a copper cryos head. Can a McClicky switch kit from overready that is made for a surfire 6p work with the solarforce l2t tailcap?
